Tagged! :)

Miss Jack over at However Improbable has given me the "Thanks for being you" blog award. Aww. Thanks bunches, dear.

Sooooo. I think I have all the rules understood...ish.

1.) Thank the person who gave it to you. (Done.)
2.) Post eleven facts about yourself.
3.) Answer eleven questions I will make up for you and make up eleven of your own. (Heh..)
4.) Tell seven more things about yourself.

Kay. I'm just combing things. 17 things about myself.... I dunno if I'll be able to make it. We shall see.

1.) It takes a lot of kids to make me go: Big family! I mean... Coming from a family of eleven kids, six seems kind of piddly. (No offence, you people from those kind of families!)

2.) I want to learn how to box really well so that I can defend myself should the need arise.

3.) I hate dentists. I get scared.

4.) I really want to see Toy Soldiers with Sean Astin.

5.) I have never had my hair professionally styled. I hear bad stories about bad experiences with bad hairdressers and I say, "NOT WORTH IT!"

6.) I believe that when all else fails you should call Jason Bourne or Aaron Cross.

7.) I have broken both arms. In the same summer. (one in June, one in September) And I find that REALLY unfair because I was literally a Miss Prissy when I was small. I didn't do anything dangerous... I was just the outfielder for the neighborhood baseball team which converged in our back yard. And there was a pair of roller skates.

8.) I want to buy all of the Gallagher Girls books.

9.) I want Ally Carter to write another Heist Society book.

10.) I want to meet Josh Groban

11) And Hayley Westenra

12.) And Skandar Keynes.

13.) And Hugh Jackman

14.) and Jeremy Renner.

15.) And the Avengers. All of them. (Preferably when the Hulk is not Hulking.)

16.) I cannot WAIT for Bourne Legacy! Squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

17.) I want to be a children's book illustrator, but freak out at the thought.

Whew!

So, Jack's questions are:

1.) What is the first book you ever remember reading by yourself?
A Laura Ingalls picture book. I really stumbled over 'pumpkin'.

2.) What is your biggest fear?
Oh. Eh. Um. I really don't want to go to Hell. But a physical fear... em. I hate crowds. So much.

3.) Who is your favouritest actor?
Awww man! I have a lot of favorite actors. I shall divide in to groups.
Old time actors: I love Jimmy Stewart and James Cagney.
Modern actors: Hugh Jackman, Jeremy Renner Christian Bale....Not necessarily in that order.

4.) Would you eat fish fingers and custard?
Fish have fingers? Let me think. No.

5.)  Do you think being lady like is a lost art?
Yeah. Well..... yeah. I mean girls now don't really act like ladies. And we shall leave it at that. But I also believe that one can get too lady like. Learning how to defend yourself should not be considered unladylike, (I don't think champion boxing for women is a good idea.) I think girls should know how to be a lady but we should not get to the point where we never do anything fun. *nods agreeably*

6.) Do you walk in the rain?
When we get it, yeah. lol

7.) Do you get rows with the chip and pin machine?
     I have no idea.

8.) Do you change your personality in the hopes that people will like you?
Are you kidding? Heheh. If they don't like me, I usually don't like them, and wouldn't want to be friends in the first place.

9.) Have you ever tried Spock's Vulcan Sleeping trick on people?
     No, but I've pretended to.

10.) What are your thoughts on Kitties?
you mean like felines? I prefer dogs.

11.) Who makes you smile the most?
My best friend. Hilarious person. Awesome.

Okay! And now my questions for the people I tag.

1.) Favorite book?
2.) Opinion on fantasy? (No bashing J. R. R. Tolkien, KAY?)
3.) Coffee or Tea?
4.) Ice cream: Vanilla or chocolate?
5.) Do you think baseball is awesome or boring? ( I love baseball.)
6.) Do you call this a soccer ball or football?

7.) Do you like action, romance, comedy, or drama? (You can pick more that one...)
8.) When you go out in public, do you tend to dress up a little bit or do you not care?
9.) Who's a better hero, Sir Percy Blakeney or Captain America
10.) Favorite movie/s?
11.) State, in five words or less, your life story. (merherherherher.)

AND now! **drum roll** I tag:

Amy
Kat
Lauren
and Pure Grace

And then.... Fun! Lots of fun!

Yeah..... What the post's title said.

You know those days where everything goes perfectly? **nods** That was today.

My sister Amy decided that we needed to get out of the house. So we packed a picnic lunch, and drove with the Mother and the Wee Sisters to.... Here!

And um.... it was awesome. There was, as you can see, a creek, which was so cold our ankles ached until we numbed up. Welcome to mountain life, people: the land of loads of snow and frozen ankles. =)

We were absolutely, completely alone, and seeing as I am borderline agoraphobic, that just about suited me fine.

We took way too many pictures. Like.....way.

Annie kicks water so adorably. Just sayin'.

The creek had lots of little islands. (I know they have an official name, but you know what? Official names are overrated.)

This is me, the great explorer. Exploring. See what I discovered? Aren't I amazing? :)

*Treskie trills songs from Oklahoma!* "There's a bright golden haze on the meadooooow....ooooooh what a beautiful mooooorning....!"

I don't usually goof around and take retarded pictures of strange poses. But I'm beginning to see the appeal. We are spies. We do spy things... Like wear super cool spy sunglasses. Do not try this at home.

Incidentally, I was wearing my Psych outfit:

This is what I thought I looked like:

This is what I really looked like:

Then we built a house. A small, elf sized house. It looked more like one of those tropical island huts. My mom referred to it as a Gilligan's Island hut.

I thought it looked more like the shack in Father Goose:

And I went around saying, "ALL of them, Frank!" In my best Cary Grant imitation. Heheh

All in all I'd vote that the day just about reached the 'pink of perfection'. It was so nice and relaxing. And I only got a tad sunburned. Hardly noticeable. *cough, cough*

And that's about as much as I have to offer for the evening. **waves**

God bless!

On rainy days, pictures, and the difficulty of drawing eyeglasses.

It's been one of those days where I feel immensely creative and the need to be busy. I want to draw! I want to write! I want to clean the entire house! I want to want to make a dollhouse out of a cardboard box! (Actually that's a good idea. Remind me to do a tutorial on one of those next month.) I want to make little fairy dolls for the cardboard doll house! I want to bake cookies! I want to get a care package together for someone I miss very much! I want to make little clay things! And I......... I....... I can't.

I have very pressing obligations which must get done before I can do anything recreational. (I am taking a break from those very pressing obligations at this very moment. Shame on me.)

But I still feel the urge to create.

Rainy days tend to bring that out in me.

It's the first rainy day of the summer.

I don't know about you, but where I live our pollen season starts later than everywhere else. It lasts longer too, because we never get rain. We get a lot of snow (a lot of snow), but it hardly ever rains. And you need rain to make pollen go away.

Let's just say I think our pollen season is finally over. :)

And now, Cait, over at Notebook Sisters very kindly gave me permission to copy this from her blog.

Thank you! :)

I finished the picture last night, and I'm rather happy/unhappy with the finished product.

It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, but I really like it by itself.

Now, before you say, "That doesn't look anything like her/me!" please note that I was really just trying to get the pose she was in.

Also, as a side note, glasses are really, really hard to draw! I must work on that, they are super difficult to get right.

But thanks again to Cait. It was very nice of her to let me use her picture as a model.

SQUEEEEEE! I have fifteen followers! Thank you all for joining, it gives me such a thrill when I see a new person. I'm considering a giveaway for if and when I make it to twenty... but I have no idea what I would, you know, give away. So..... suggestions?

And now I go back to my pressing obligations....
Who knows? Maybe my creative juices will continue to flow until I can start utilizing them.

                   God bless!

Picture Saturday--Squeak!

No, I did not draw that. lol!

But that has kind of been my mindset of late... I go though these silly times where I think, "I just want to fine my guy already!" sniffle.

Sigh.

Anyway!

                                                          This picture inspired it.

I didn't copy it, I just took the basic set-up, because it makes me feel all happy inside.

And I loved the way my guy's face turned out. He looks Scottish!

That's it for now... we're going to watch a movie... I think it's The Mummy. (Brenden Frasier is hilarious in that.)

God bless!

Me!

Things I Love...

I just realized that I haven't posted since Saturday.

I am sorry. I have been busy.

I've had just enough time to find a few things which I love enough to share.

                                            So. I Love...

This picture. I don't know why, but something about it just makes me want to frolic and sing "Tralalalalally!" at the top of my lungs.

Innit purty?

This dress. I'd lose the bow though. I don't do bows.

This book. It's so funny and heartwarming. (Plus, I love the WWII time frame. Is that weird?)

This song. It's awesome. I love it. I think the rest of my family is on the verge of hating it because I am constantly replaying it. Oops!

This movie:

Okay. Now I do a quickie review, but only after I deafen you by squealing "THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME! THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!" over and over again.

Ready?

This movie was awesome!   This movie was awesome!   This movie was awesome!

Right.

Since I'm awful at coming up with clear, well done plot summaries of movies, I'm just going to post the trailer:

I was sold on it in the first five minutes. There was a fight scene.

However we did fast forward two scenes. Both times it's because a girl is changing and it gets bad. imbd  and kidsinmind.com sum it up admirably. But as long as you fast forward those two parts (you don't even need them, they're not necessary to further the plot) the movie is clean.

There. And now I'm done. lol

God bless, pepes!

Picture Saturday-- Kiss me?

Um.

Doesn't it look like she's asking him to kiss her? :)

To quote Disney's Robin Hood, "Och... young love."

I've been in that kind of mood recently. lol...

Her face is... skewed. But hey.... **grins**

Blog awards!

Kat gave me two awards! **Treskie simpers delightedly**

So the rules of these are pretty simple, I have tell you seven previously unknown things about myself, and I need to award seven other worthy bloggers.

Fact the first: I know what the word "carriwitchet" means.

Fact the second: I created this blog accidentally, and thus freaked myself out so much that I had to give it a few days before I actually posted anything. :-|

Fact the third: I hate stiletto heels. So. Much.

Fact the fourth: Once, when my sisters and I were going to pick up another sister at the airport, we got super, super lost and had to ask for directions. Eight. Times. (It was dark. There was construction. And no one gives adequate directions anymore. "Ooooh it's SO easy!" they all said, and then proceeded to give us directions which sounded something like this: "Turn right, take a left, go straight, pass one, two, three, stop lights, turn around, come back, get on a ramp, get car-jacked, buy a GPS...")

Fact the fifth: I write and draw with my left hand, but do everything else with my right. :-\

Fact the sixth: I cried over every single Redwall book ever written. When certain hares died in Mariel of Redwall? I grieved for weeks.

Fact the seventh: I got asked out five times in one class when I was taking music lessons at our local middle school. I was in sixth grade. I was eleven. I told them no.

Alrighty!

I know you're supposed to award seven bloggers, but I'm only doing five.

1.) Amy
2.) Miss Elizabeth Bennet
3.) Mime
4.) Anna Grace
5.) Marlene E.

Oooh. I've just gotta!

Three words.

Avengers
Inspired
Outfits

I'd probably change the pants to skirts, just because I think skirts are more modest and flattering, but.... I might have to start my Captain America and Hawkeye collection right now. And then work my way on from there. I plan to have ALL of the inspired outfits before I'm 18. (I will make modifications especially to the Captain America one. I prefer more subtle.)

Also... It occurs to me that I haven't done Random Facts in a while. :-\ Hmph.

Okay!

Five Random Facts:

1.) I love classic Winnie the Pooh:

2.) Giving speeches is my Achilles Heel. I'd would rather sing solo, it's so much easier!

3.) I can swim in very cold water no problem. We go swimming in a mountain lake, and believe me, it's still cold in August.

4.) I'm in a "movie musicals" mood. Watching Oklahoma! started it, I think. But we watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers the other night, and I'm very much wanting to watch Happiest Millionaire again. (my sister Amy did a suh-weet post on those a few days ago...)

5.) Sticking to the "musicals" thread, I was obsessed with Newsies when was about twelve, and stayed obsessed until I neared my sweet sixteen. I think we watched it three times in the first week I was introduced to it.

That's all people!

God bless,

Picture Saturday-- We're not sure what she is.

So I'm going to call her a fairy pirate.

I don't know what it is about me, but lately I have not been able to draw humans. I mean.... Even if I'm trying to draw a human, it always ends up looking more.... pixie-ish. Which is unbelievably irritating. *scowls*

Her stockings are actually a bit more brown, but the camera simply decided not to show that.

She is cute, eh? lol... I find myself quite fond of her face.

However, I can't decide whether I prefer her colored in or in black and white.

I don't know why the stupid images aren't lining up. They're the exact same size, and they line up fine in the draft form. But once I hit 'publish' they go all wonky on me. :(

How 'bout you? Black and white or coloured?

I believe I shall call her Captain Jackie Firesword.

And someday, when I have time. I shall write a story about Fairy Pirates. *rubs hands together gleefully.* I inspire myself!

That's all for now....

God bless!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day to everyone!

Almost everybody (in the United States, at least...) know the first verse of The Star Spangled Banner. (You ought to if you're an American! If not...learn it.) But I think...the fourth verse is one of my favorites.

"Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand,
between their loved home, and war's desolation.
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven rescued land
praise the Power that hath made, and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause, it is just.
And thus be our motto: "In God is our Trust"
Then the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave,
O'er the Land of the Free, and the home of the brave."

You have to admit, those are pretty awesome lyrics. And call me biased--I probably am-- but I think Americans have one of the coolest national anthems in the world. (One of the hardest to sing, too. But hey...)

Righty, I'm off to celebrate. Barbeque, games, listening to patriotic music, like Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue, God Bless America, American Soldier, all that stuff. :) ... and s'mores tonight.

Brownie points to anyone who knows who wrote the The Star Spangled Banner. WITHOUT googling it!

God bless,

~~Treskie~
