*Angry Treskie Noises*

It's been ages!

You guys are so Treskie deprived! (I know, such a loss.)

Here's the thing:

I am in a drawing funk.

And it's the worst kind of drawing funk, because I want to draw. I want to draw all the things. I want to draw more Phantom fanart, because, believe it or not, I'm still in love with that musical. I want to draw fanart for books I've been reading. I want to finish that Supernatural fanart that I promised Cait forever ago. I want to draw Hannah's character. I want to illustrated songs! (Particularly Right Field and And Then He Kissed Me.) I want to draw and draw and draw!

And I can't.

Because for some reason, my brain and my hand aren't speaking to each other. (I think they had a fight or something.) And they aren't communicating. My brain goes, "Do this!" and my hand shrieks "NEVAH!" and it's all very irritating.

.... And by irritating I mean infuriating.

I'm sure anyone who does any form of art can understand this. Writers, artists, poets... whatever. There are just times when, even when you have the best of intentions, the art does not come.

I plan to watch this very soon.

I have tried to do art.

And after a good long while of sadness and wasted paper,* I resort to tears** and netflix.

*expensive wasted paper.
**not really.

In the meantime, since drawing is apparently not going to happen, I've been doing other stuff.*

*new stuff, old stuff, shiny stuff.

Mostly this other stuff is reading.

A.) THE NEW PENDERWICKS BOOK!!! Aaaah! It's so good! Definitely one of my favorites in the series. But I will admit, it has been a long time since I cried that hard over a book. So many tears. (And I'm not joking there, I was a wet mess.)

Ugh, just read the whole series.

THIS IS ANOTHER CAUSE FOR ANGRY TRESKIE NOISES! I want to fanart about the Penderwicks, and helloooo, drawing funk.

B.) I re-read the first Bartimaeus book, because Jonathan Stroud is basically an awesome author. I guffawed again, because Bartimaeus is a dork.

I want to draw fanart for that too. *Angry Treskie noises*

C.) Kat found a new series by the aforementioned Jonathan Stroud. How he wrote it without my knowledge is beyond me, but I am reading book one with voracious vigor, and I'm loving every moment of it. It's about Ghost Hunters and I feel creeped out sometimes, and it's delicious. (No, Cait, it's not a Supernatural rip-off, cool your jets.)

*Angry Treskie noises commence with angst, because the fanart that could be is not coming*

I lost my old kneaded eraser, which meant I had to open the new one that I've had since Christmas. AND THIS IS HOW WEIRD I AM. I COULDN'T USE IT. See, kneaded erasers are supposed to be squished and yanked and... well kneaded. They're like clay. You need to manipulate them, and work them in, so they erase beautifully. But they come in such perfect little squares that I couldn't make myself ruin the beauty of this symmetry. I posted on tumblr about it.

Yep. It took me three days to actually use it, and in the end, I had to get my friend to do the initial kneading of it, because I couldn't make myself. I AM A DORK.

We have started re-watching Monk. Monk is a dork.

I am working on a Defense of Raoul post. I was planning to decorate it with drawings. That won't happen. (See above for reasons.)

We've been listening to a lot of oldies at work, and it's really put me in an oldies mood, and I've listened to this song a ridiculous amount. (And this clip is hilarious.)

It's cute!

Well, he walked up to me
And he asked me if I wanted to dance
He looked kinda nice
And so I said, "I might take a chance"
When he danced, he held me tight
And when he walked me home that night
All the stars were shinin' bright
And then he kissed me

I took this picture today and it made me really happy.

I have to sing two solos for my voice class final on Tuesday!!! If all goes well, and I remember the camera, I might post videos of them later..... But until then, pray that my cold/allergies go away and I can actually sing.

Because I'm not sure if I have a cold or really bad allergies. All I know is that the air is pretty much green with pollen and I have a weird voice thing going on at the moment.

It's finally warm enough to go swimming, which we did. I'm very proud of being a mountain lake girl, I can swim in coooold water and it's not that big of a deal. Well let me tell you. IT WAS A COLD FIRST SWIM, OKAY?? FREEZING. My wrists were so numb my hands wouldn't stand up. Aaah good times.

We rewatched the Princess Bride and quoted the whole movie along with the actors.

We listened to this really awesome sermon.

I broke my favorite sandals.

I'm going now.

*I apologize for any typos in this post. I'm tired and I don't feel like proofing it.

The Faire

So the Ren Faire was a success, I think. Oh you know, it was a little bit corny, and a little bit silly, but we had fun, so I still say success.

We showed up in large groups, because there's a lot of us, and almost everyone in the family came, including a few friends, so.... lots of girls, man.

I didn't take very many pictures because I know my cellphone camera leaves a lot to be desired, quality-wise. (I was also really busy and forgot rather frequently.)

I was a pirate, because because pirates costumes are easy to throw together. Amy put this scarf in my hair last minute and I think it completed my look. BOOM TISS.

I should have stood with my left side to the camera. You could have seen my epic sash better.

So we meandered around and looked at the little shops that were set up.... we tried on hats:

And masks:

At one point Queen Elizabeth I and her court came regally by. But, since we like Mary Queen of Scots, and since Elizabeth totally stole the crown from her, we declined to bow. We're rebellious that way.

We played with swords.

We found the Doctor.

He was extremely nice and let lots of people pose with him. (Even though he was probably busy saving the world from the robots of Sherwood or something.)

This really nice glassblower blew a tiny wineglass for us, because we asked. Trina bought it because it was adorable and tiny. I purchased a bud vase, and it makes me very happy.

There was jousting, which was fun. But the announcer was annoying, so it dampened the fun somewhat.

We took shameless selfies.

And bought freshly squeezed lemonade, because it was hot and we were thirsty.
We don't know what scared Cinta, but she is alarmed.

We listened to a bard tell a story about how Jack O'Lanterns came to be. He's quite a good story teller, and he inserted some Firefly references which I snortled over.

We found the Doctor's TARDIS, and since you couldn't get much cooler than that, we decided to call it a day!

It was really nice, and I'm pretty sure I got a mild case of sunstroke, but whatever. Overall, much enjoyment was had by all.

Mkay, I must go, I have things to do and probably stress over.

Treskie out.

Picture Saturday- I introduce my OCs

I have characters.

They are wonderful characters.

And my attempt to write their story is so unbelievably bad.

So I've taken to drawing their story instead, and it's making me really happy.

I've had this story fluttering around in my head for a few years now, and while I know what I want it to be, the story has other ideas, and after quite a few attempts, I've sort of given up on ever completing it, because I cannot write. I am not a writer. What is writing....

Yeah so... Chris and Rose have a complicated relationship, and it's amusing and adorable and... and... annoying. Yay, for alliteration!

Ehem, but anyway. So this week is mostly doodles of them... You should be proud of me, I only drew two more Phantom things!! But I may have... possibly... watched it again.... maybe... so....

1.)  Chris tends to tell Rose random "true" facts, and since she knows he's prone to exaggerating, she usually looks at him with various expressions of disbelief.

 2.) Mhmm, so fabulous.

3.) There was a bad day where I drew a bunch of sad pictures, because that's how I find an emotional outlet.

 4.) So sad.

 5.) Many tear.

And for some reason, when I inked it in, his jaw grew square, which bothers one.

 6.) So much love.

7.) And because she's a feisty little idiot, they get into frequent heated arguments.

8.) So he finally tells her that if they're going to bicker like a married couple, they might as well be a married couple, and it's cute.

9.) Here, have a really rough draft of Sam and Dean.*

*Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really. So it's not awesome.

*Pants because Phantom.* I'm sure the obsession will wear off soon, but as it is, I'm still all flippy over it, so. I apologize.

I'm all out of stuff to say, ladies and gents. (Do gents even follow this blog? Hello?)

I'm going as a pirate type person for the Ren Faire tomorrow, and it should be fun.

Mkay, Treskie out.

It's been a while since I've done one of these.

Well, what can I say? My life is boring.

And I'm okay with that, because whenever my life starts to get less boring, I get very tired and quite stressed, because A.) less boring usually means more people, and dealing with people exhausts me. And B.) Being exhausted and dealing with people stresses me out.

Boring is so much better.

Le Five Randoms Facts:

1.) It's finally getting sunny and warm here, which means our trees are finally getting leaves, and our lilacs have bloomed. WOOOOOO!

2.) My best friend graduated, and I helped her decorate the cap because I'm awesome that way. (And so modest too.)

3.) We went to Barnes&Noble and I bought this book called 500 Drawing Prompts and it makes me very happy. Supernatural, season 3 was also on sale, so I totally bought that too, because basically Sam and Dean are my most favorite.

While we were driving home from Reno, at 75mph, the back right tire on Jarvis exploded. We didn't just get a flat, the tire blew. I mean smoke and everything, it was very exciting! Luckily there was a guy behind us who was either a retired cop, or a highway patrolman, and he helped us change the tire.

After this, I informed our mechanic that he has got to teach me how to do it myself, because I "know" what to do, but I don't know what to do, you know what I mean?

4.) I've been watching Gilmore Girls. Hurhur. I really like it! It's funny, it's sweet, it's the fasted-paced dialogue I've ever heard, and the sarcasm in it is fabulous. It's pretty clean too, so far, and I'm really enjoying it. I have one or too irritations with it, but overall, it's really fun.

5.) The other day, I was driving along with my sister, and as we passed by the lake, this inadvertent, "Wow." came out. I mean, the lake was so beautiful, and so lovely, I couldn't really help myself. And I just thought how lucky I am to live somewhere like this, where I can drive by something I see almost every day, and it still is so insanely pretty that I can't help but be astonished at how gorgeous it is.

5.) The Ren Faire is in town again this weekend, so we, and a few friends, have decided to go and make a day of it. Because we're the kind of people who don't really plan ahead, one of the friends is coming up today to see if we can slap together some sort of costume. I think we might be doing something Doctor Who-ish (because he's a time-traveler, see.) Or Steampunky, or just generally old. It's all very slap-dash and spur of the moment, but I'm excited. :) There's going to be jousting!  And it's going to make me feel like picking up a sword and stabbing someone! *dances*

Aaaand that is all my news at the moment. Like I said, my life is boring.

And I'm in a drawing funk. *Angry Treskie noises*

Alright, I'm out. Bai!
