I totally just barreled my way through four seasons of stress.

Four seasons of unbridled emotions and stress.

Lots of feelings.

And you know what?

SO WORTH IT.

Summary

When his brother Lincoln is wrongly convicted of murder, Michael, a structural engineer, resolves to break him out of a maximum security prison before he's scheduled to be executed in a month's time. Things spiral out of control, when it becomes clear that there is a government conspiracy hell bent on keeping the brothers from finding out why Linc was really framed.

so...  I started this show, kind of spur of the moment, around 11pm. I was anxious about a job interview, and needed to get my mind off it. So alone in my room, I browsed netflix looking for something that I wouldn't hate. I read the summary, and it sounded good, so I clicked on the first episode.

Because the summary made me think, "A little action, a little drama, a little cleverness.... yes!" I was not prepared for stress, feelings, stress, sobbing, epicness, stress, intenseness, trauma, action, stress, more stress, OMG ROMANCE FEELS, and oh yeah. Stress.

I don't think I went to sleep until two.

Oh my gosh, you guys, this show. It has consumed my life. Consumed.

It is so intense.

AND IT HAS THIS PENCHANT FOR ENDING EVERY EPISODE WITH A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER.

Unfortunately, it is TV PG14, which means I need to mention the stuff that I didn't like about it.

*The rating on the show means they add inappropriate bed scenes. To my count, I think there are anywhere between six and ten per season. Which... is a lot. That is why I cannot recommend it to anyone under 16.
*The pervs. There are a couple of characters that just have dirty little minds. There is also one character who is a pedophile and doesn't particularly have a preference between men and women. (I will say this is the worst in the first season and kind of fades out over the series.) He, however, is not portrayed as a good guy. No one likes him. We wish he would die. He is a horrible man.
*The off-color conversations that go on. Why? Just.... why?
*It's prison, so there's going to be violence.
*Veronica. (She's not really inappropriate, she was just.... such a lousy actress.)

..... Awkward. It doesn't seem that dirty when you're actually watching it. (I do keep a remote handy, I swear.)

Now, moving on.

This show was amazing. I haven't been this obsessed since Supernatural and Doctor Who.

So the things I liked about this show outweigh what I didn't like.

*Brother Story! I've mentioned a couple times before that I love brother stories. I think they are the best. Good brother stories are hard to find, and I am always delighted when I find a new one to obsess over. Michael and Linc are almost as good of brothers as Dean and Sam, and that's saying something! I love the chemistry between the boys, I think they act like real brothers, and it's awesome.

*Friendship story! About on par with brother stories, I love a good friendship. You know, the kind of friendships where they're so awesome, they're basically family? There are a couple of those in here, and I'm not gonna lie: I totally fangirled over them.

*Character Development! Aaaaaaaaaah! Character development is one of those things I adore. I don't tend to like a story unless there's good character development. So... this show has some of the best I've seen in a while. All the characters grow realistically, and it's easy to believe that they can go from point A to point B in their character. You can tell character development is good, when you can literally go from aggressively wishing someone will die a horrible, miserable death, to, "What!? NO! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOUR FACE. YOU POOR MISUNDERSTOOD PERSON." Which happened a couple times over the course of the series.

*Actually likeable strong female character. Can we please talk for a second about how rare it is to find a strong female character that isn't obnoxious? It's hard! But Prison Break managed it. I freaking love Sara. She is my favorite. She is my hero. I want to be like her.

*Conversion and faith stories! Almost every one of the main characters has a conversion story at one point, where something happens and they go from good to better. In fact, "Just have a little faith" is a recurring theme in the show.

*Seriously one of the cutest romances ever. Gah! It's such a sweet romance! It's not in your face, it's just there, and I ship it so hard.

*The characters themselves. Just... yes.

Michael: "Just have a little faith."

Lincoln:"The innocent people in your life, you gotta keep them innocent. If that means walking away from them then that’s what you gotta do."

Mahone: "I would kill you right now if I thought it would give me an ounce of peace."

Sucre: "Last time I drilled a hole in the wall was with an egg beater back in Fox River with Michael. I just can’t believe it’s all coming to an end and he’s not here."

 

Sara: "Michael Scofield, are you asking me to sail off into the sunset with you?"

Everyone had great chemistry, everyone was a good actor. (I mean, all the people worth mentioning. There are always a couple per series that have a hard time.... acting.) You care about people, you worry about people. There are people you need to have a happy ending, and there are people that you really wish would just die. The bad guys get steadily more hateable, and the good guys get steadily more loveable.

You should watch it.

I haven't done a random facts post in a while.

Random facts posts are pretty much an update on my life.... but written in a list so that I don't have to do proper paragraph structure, because, let's be honest: that crud's exhausting.

Le First Fact: I AM EMPLOYED! This is so big, I made myself into a gif!

Not gonna lie, being a gif is weird. I'm proud of it. 

It's a nice job at the same florist where Amy and Kat work, so it's a nice, gentle ease into the adult world.

I'm tired though. And I have a headache. And all I want to do is curl up on the couch and watch Prison Break until my eyes fall out, and end up in Sherlock's tea.

Le Second Fact: I sold my first shirt! Lalalalalalala. I'm awesome. Whoever bought it is awesome. Etsy is awesome.

Le Third Fact: PRISON BREAK.

I am so addicted! (I'm actually finished with the series. I'm now rewatching it with the rest of the family.) It's so freaking good and intense. Eeeeeeeeeeee. I need to do a proper review about it, because it's definitely a big-kid show, but oh my freaking gosh, I cannot even!

Le Fourth Fact: We rewatched The Winter Soldier at the dollar theater on Sunday. Heh. I've been going around singing "Are you the Winter Soldier?" to my little sister and driving her crazy. I'm amazing that way.

Le Fifth Fact. My mommy is very nice about the fact that all of her daughters are raging fangirls. She doesn't worry about it, she doesn't judge us, she just looks on amusedly, and doesn't worry about our sanity. We literally spent two hours on Sunday talking about Prison Break, and she didn't even care. SHE IS THE BEST.

That is all. I must go. I was going to post a gif of someone saying goodbye, but I'm too tired, and Prison Break is calling to me. The show calls to me. The show.... calls to me.

I'm still adjusting to it... I might decide I don't like it. I might change it back to purple, but until then, this is what I'm going with.

It's weird how creativity abandons you when you are stressed. (I'm pretty sure it oozles out of your ear when you're sleeping. Like, when creativity goes rogue.... it turns into the Khan worm.)

This week, I actually worked on a commission. (My first commission! Aaaaagh!) And she said I could share it with you, but I think I'm going to wait until next week. Because I'm in a contrary, stressy mood.)

Other than that, all I did this week were sketches.

Sooo we have the random grass fairy, which literally took me like two minutes.

And then we have the Merlin/Supernatural mashup that I did after I finished the Merlin finale. (Which, by the way, was painful. I spent the entire ending scene like this:)

Yeah, I know Merlin's face is weird. It looks better far away. lol.

And then we have the two sketches that I did when I was at the library, ignoring a really annoying performer.

And this one, just because I like swords and skirts. 

And that sums up my life and my post.

I have two well-thought-out posts planned . I just need to take the time to get my thoughts in order and write them out.

I am so tired.

I was going to have a clever first sentence that popped, like my mom taught me to do with paragraphs.

I was going to be witty and hilarious, and you'd all laugh.

But I'm tired, so that isn't going to happen.

    Oh, good question! I think the Percy Jackson movie would have been better as a TV show. With different actors. Definitely a different Annabeth. Maybe they would actually keep to the freaking book a little more. CAN I GET AN AMEN? As it was, the movie was a bomb, and how dare it call itself Percy Jackson!?

4. And vice versa (TV show, better as a movie)?
    Mmm. Tricky. You know, I almost think White Collar would have been better as a movie. (Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy White Collar. I like it a lot. But as a movie, I think it would have rocked.)

5. What is one scene from a book that you were extremely disappointed didn't show up in its movie adaptation?
    The part in The Hobbit, where Biblo sings at the spiders!

I needed that in the movie. I mean, come on, Peter Jackson added all this other unnecessary stuff and then took some of the really good parts! What's with that!?

     Don't ask me that, I can't decide. Totally different. So there.

     Oh, several. The Ascendance Trilogy, the Gallagher Girls, Heist Society... But they'd have to be perfectly casted, perfectly adapted, and nothing weird added or subtracted. Basically, not like the Percy Jackson movie adaption. Or the Last Airbender.

The Grand Opening!

*Deep breath.*

Today is the day I officially open my etsy shop!

I'm super excited to finally have gotten this up, it took a lot longer than I was expecting it to. I had a hard time getting the t-shirts to sell, and when I finally was able to stock up on them... I found out that polyester doesn't bleach.

At all.

I bought $60 worth of nice, fitted, black tees, and not one of them was bleachable because they were all polyester! Who knew black wouldn't bleach? And I'm talking lots of bleach--that shirt was dripping with the stuff. And it didn't even fade. Not even a little.

Anyway!

Before we get started, I have a new page over on the right hand side bar. It will inform you that I am now accepting commissions for drawings that you might like to have me do. Do click it. It will give me great pleasure.
