FEASTS!

So....

It has come to this.

I didn't post on St. Patrick's Day.

*facepalm*

I had a whole, awesome post planned, from breakfast to evening. I was going to take pictures of my adorable outfit (hee!) and show off how everyone in my family wears green. (we take the Saint Patrick's Day tradition very seriously. If you don't wear green you will get pinched....... by everyone.)

But we spent most of the day outside and then we had semi-unexpected guests for dinner. (Corned beef and cabbage.... whaaaaaat!) The picture taking went down from there. :) It was, overall, a really lovely day, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have you ever heard of a game called "Crack the Case"? It's a really awesome detective game where one person reads out a case and everyone else needs to figure out the mystery. It's really, really fun. Great for big groups with Sherlockian Minds. *nods knowingly.* I can only play a few rounds at a time, because after a while, I start to get really creeped out. Some cases get super, super scary. Wheeeeeeeee!

My sister Amy did a post a week or so ago about femine tomboys. And yeah. That's what I am, I think. I don't know how many of you know this, but I love boxing. I don't like it so much as a sport, (two people beating the crud out of each other is weird.) but I love the technique. It's great for exercise and self-defense. And yep, I box a little. And that's what Amy and I did for a long time on St. Patrick's Day.

See my outfit!? lol

*blush.* Yes, that is a video of me. Boxing it out on St. Patrick's Day. Jab, Jab, DEATH! (jabs are very important, FYI.)

And now.... today is Saint Joseph's Day.

And it's a big enough feast day for Catholics that we slack a little bit in our Lenten penances and have a good time. So, today we went on a picnic. With ham, and cheese, and trail mix, and chips, and cookies, and coffee, and lemonade, and cocoa. It's a PICNIC! We don't eat healthily on picnics, okay!? But there were apples.

We found out that in Italy, apparently on St. Joseph's Day, everyone wears red, like green for St. Patrick's. Hence everyone was wearing various shades of red. We're weird.

We ate, and flew kites and played soccer, and playground tag. For some reason, with us, fun includes food. Lots and lots of food. We're Italian. *wink*

Start singing the Winnie the Pooh theme song:
Deep in the hunnnndred aaacre wood........

Bella thinks crawling through  the tube is for wimps.

For the record, because it was fairly chilly and overcast, this particular park was empty and we ran around it with reckless abandon without the fear of killing other people's kids. Heh. Heh. Heh.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Then we came home, watched a Psych (Heeeere's Lassie!) and ate a scrumptious meal. Yes. We eat a lot. But who wouldn't want to eat Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti?

And now we're watching another Psych and drinking coffee and eating more cookies.

Wow. We really do eat a lot!

Ahem.

ALSO!!!! As an aside, if you like the Hunger Games, go check out Jonnah's blog.

She's having a really, really awesome giveaway, and it's.... well I want it. :)

And now I will go.

Byyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeee.

    1. There is not such thing as fun without food. hehehehe. It was a lot of fun running around on the playground. And I'm not even sore from it, which is SO nice. :D

Hmmmm. If you really want to see it, maybe you could go to the youtube video of it. It's here" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwNKoXVfA_I

  4. I love St. Patrick's day! But in my family, we have the rule of no pinching each other.
Food... if you weren't Catholic, Treskie, you might be Baptist like me. :)

    2. Are you Irish? My family is. :)

Oh, no! Never forget the food! Bring food to church in the form of a covered dish. (Seriously, bring what ever you want as long as it has a lid or plastic wrap) That's essential to being a Baptist. :)

    3. Robyn's comment cracked me up. Being a baptist has its perks. ;)

There's quite an army of you lot! I love the matching red thing. And green. We kind of... forgot to be patriotic for St. Patrick's this year.

Aaaaaah... we're a little bit Irish. We like to think of ourselves as Irish. :D

      Really? That's interesting. :)

      Mime:

There are a lot of us. Hehehe, good thing you weren't here. You would have had a lot of pinches. :D

    5. Carry-in dinners and covered dishes are associated with Baptists. It's a fun thing to joke about. (and it may very well be true...) :)

    1. Aw, thanks, Eli! :D Italians will rule the world with fooooood.

Boxing is so much fun. We have a friend who knows a lot about it who teaches us when he visits. Our town has grown up a lot and it's not always friendly, so we tend to think that it's good to know a little self defense. :D

PSYCH! Have you seen the whole Sixth season? Daaaang. BBC-type cliffhanger right there. :D Shawn is FREAKING awesome in the next one. I love Shawn. :D

Oooooooooooooh yay! I was wondering if anyone would get that reference. My sister went on to sing, "Where all the DeLallos play! You'll find the abandoned parking lot, when all the DeLallos go 'way...." yeah. We're weird.

      Thanks for commenting! xo

  6. Your family. Your family is the epitome of excellence. Food, food, board games, chatter, food, gorgeous skirts, food, picnics, playgrounds, food, food ... I really REALLY like food. I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day, or St. Joseph's Day, so there was no celebration in my house. That's what you get when your family aren't religious, I guess!

On a side note, thanks for the heads up on that terrific-looking game - my, I wish for it to be mine. *adds it to list* *nods satisfactorily*

  8. You are all so cute. It looks like a lot of fun!! (Your picnics and St. Patrick's Day and boxing.) We were going to have corned beef and cabbage too but the store was all sold out so we gave up on it. We're not big corned beef fans anyways, but I LOVE boiled cabbage!!

You know about Oscar!!!! This makes me happy! My family and I are always quoting it and we always get the, "What is that from?" questions. And I want to groan because it isn't the type of movie one can explain in a few minutes. Most people cut me off when I try and go, "I'll have to watch it," but never do. I love trying to mimic Poole's voice, I always fail miserably.

That's it!!! If we ever get together we are watching Howl's Moving Castle. I shall bring it as I am planning on buying it soon.

Oh and you got Snaps last name 8-D I have a friend who love Italian food and she is always talking about provolone cheese so when I made the connection I had a silent giggle with myself.

I remember Tim Curry in Psych. He was funny in it, albeit annoying. I love his voice.

ACK!!! Season seven of Psych!! Wasn't it brilliant?! (And you got to miss the cliff hanger I had to suffer a week through. I could have hugged the directors and writers for not killing Henry off.) In that area I like them better then BBC writer's who love to make us bawl our eyes out.

    1. Hehehe, Thanks, Jack. :D We make really good corned beef and cabbage. (And we're so modest too....lol) Yummmmm.

*snicker* Oscar. You're right, it's so hard to explain it. It's one of those things, where you go, "It's a really complicated pot.... let me just show you next time you come over. If I explain it, you won't want to watch." And then they eye you like you're some sort of weirdo. I showed it to my friend a couple months ago and she was in hysterics. *grin*

Sounds good. We shall watch it together. Christian Bale voices Howl, right? He's got a good "Howl" voice.

PSYYYYYYCH! AAAAAAAAAH! Oh my gosh. We did have to wait about four days to watch the next episode... in the mean time, I cheated and watched all the promos I could find. So I knew that Henry didn't die ON the beach, but I still didn't know if he survived the whole episode. I loved how Shawn went around breaking things and abusing machine guns. He was so COOL. And that whole end scene I was squeaking intermittently whenever something exciting happened. And the CRANBERRY EXPLODED! Bwahahahahaha! I must thank USA network for not killing people. That was SO nice. I have a really hard time with Woody though. Woody's a little to gross for me. lol.

And... now I will awa' to bed.

      G'night and God bless!

  9. You're Italian, you've a right to brag about your food. I've had Italian ice cream before, that alone is worth a good boast. *Grin*

Oscar is like Doctor Who. As David Tennant explained it, it is hard to describe it without sounding insane. Some things one just has to watch.

Yes! Christian Bale does talk Howl!! And he does an amazing job!!!

Like you, I got to see a preview before seeing the new Psych so was somewhat comforted to know Henry didn't die right away - but I still had plenty to panic over fearing he'd die in the hospital.
I wasn't sure what to think of Shawn at first. Seeing him so reckless and almost insane - more so then usual. But it was sweet to see how concerned he was for his dad and I felt bad for him - then not so bad when Jules came in and saved him which made me giggle for some reason. She's just that cool.
Oh! And Lassie!!! Drooling over all those guns!!! That was funny. And the Cranberry, that made me laugh so hard. That poor car 8-D
I agree about Woody. At first I didn't get it, I'm a bit slow on things like that which I'm fine with. But after awhile I was going, "Really?" Which is a shame, he was so cool in the first ones. (Actually, the only one I REALLY remember him in is when they all supposedly got drunk. That one had me laughing so hard.)

    1. Oh my GOSH, I've only had Gelato a few times, but wow, that stuff is packed with AWESOME.

Yes, precisely. I like that description. It's one of those "just WATCH it" movies. lol

We just re-watched that episode last night with Amy and Mahri. Hehehe, they were as excited as I was. lol. I dunno. I guess I could understand exactly where Shawn was coming from. The way he walks into that guy's house and was like, "This house is nice. Too nice." *break* I can actually... sort of see me reacting like that.

Aaaaaaaah JULES. She was SO cool. The only female tough person I love, really. And I wonder how they got the got the blueberry to go in half like that. It's... so much comic relief. :D

THANK you for agreeing about Woody. The first couple episodes with him, I liked him. He was funny. But then he just kept getting weirder and more creepy. lol. YEs! The Last Night Gus episode was so funny! Where Gus reacts to the state of his car? Hheeeeeeeeeeeeeehehehe. lol.

  10. Thank you, Emily!!! That's my way of viewing it. LOL.

You'd be surprised at what we can accomplish in long skirts. lol. Most people wouldn't want to go running around on a playground without changing into pants but us? Nope. We're like, "OH WELL, if it rips, it rips." :D lol.

    Cheers!
