Like seriously. I'll just put my mp3 player on random and listen to whatever plays. Loud music, sad music, happy music, it's whatevs. Hehe.
Choosing this song was hard.
After some extreme cheek biting and puzzlement, I just turned on my mp3 player and chose the first song it played.
This was I Need a Hero by Jennifer Saunders.
It's pretty cool that it was that particular song that randomed on, because it's really relatable.
"I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
He's gotta be sure
And it's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be larger than life
Larger than life.
Ahem. Yeah. I love that song. It's a good song. I like the sentiment.
Anyhoo, we went out into the wilderness today. It was really awesome. I'm prolly going to do a post about it tomorrow, because it was so nice, it deserves a post.
In the meantime here's a gif that makes me very happy.
It's day twenty!! Which means (drumroll) I'm two-thirds of the way through!
That means you awesome people
Only have to endure ten more days of this!
Cue happy dance.
I promise to not do another challenge like this for a very long time. *snicker*
Anyhoo.
The song for today is
A song you listen to when you're angry.
When I get mad, I have two extremes. I have the "I HATE EVERYONE AND I'M GOING TO LET THEM KNOW THIS!" extreme, and I have the "go into my room and cry" extreme.
But either way, I feel very Rumpelstiltskin like.
And I tend to listen to loud, drummy music.
Nickelback tends to make me feel better pretty fast.
Three Random Facts:
1.) I finished season two of Once Upon a Time!!
Kay, I was actually pretty impressed... A lot. Not to the point where I giggled and clapped like a retarded seal, the way Bella does. (I love you, Bella.) But I had feels. And I wasn't expecting that.
I really, really like Neal. He's possibly my all time favorite character of the show.
3.) I wore a Dean Winchester inspired outfit today. I was very proud of it and felt all tough and cool. I forgot to take a picture, but it looked something like this. only blue and black.
I need a life.
3.) DAY EIGHTEEN of the challenge!
A song you wish you heard on the radio
While I am inundated with songs that hope.....one day..... to be music, it tends to be pretty rare that I hear good music when I turn on the radio.
I'm going to cheat and do two songs. BAM! Switching things up! You didn't see that coming, did you!
I'm so cool.
Honestly? I'd love to hear some Josh Groban. Jooooooooooooooooosssshhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Frankly, I don't even know what station he'd be on, but if I did, I'd listen to that station.
You're the Only Place
"Maybe I'm young and in the ways of love naive
Maybe I'm desperate for a reason to believe
There wasn't any way I thought that we would fall
I've seen perfection in a rainbow in the sky
I've seen a child make the coldest grown man cry
But loving you I thought was greater than them all"
However, since we tend to listen to the country station whenever we turn on the radio, I'd really like to hear some more Scotty McCreery, because his voice is really good and his songs are fun.
You know that part, in Doctor Who, when Rory's dad is keeping that log about the cubes? And since the cubes never do anything, it's basically the same log every day?
"Brian's log. Day sixty-seven. Cube was quiet all night. Once again. Cube was quiet all day. As per previously. No movement. No change in measurements. End of entry."
That's how I feel like my posts are getting.
And then you guys are probably like Rory: "Wow. I can't wait to see what happens on day sixty-eight."
But hey, I'm half-done with the challenge! To quote Tim Hawkins, "I'm halfway done, dude!"
Anyhoo.
Day fifteen: A song that describes you.
I mulled a bit over this one, because I honestly couldn't think of a single song that fit me.
And then I remembered this one Taylor Swift song.
And I was like BOOM! That one!
Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift
Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming,
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you everything's funny, you got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that
Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little.
Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you, won't let no one break your heart
And no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up.
There's something about this song that just makes me cry. I can totally relate to it.
It's not that I don't want to grow up, per say. (I mean, I don't really.) But it's more like I wish I had appreciated being a kid more. I always wanted to grow up and be a big girl. Seriously! I hated being a little kid. My mom says I was a teenager by the time I was eight.
You're in the car on the way to the movies
And you're mortified your mom's dropping you off.
At fourteen, there's just so much you can't do
And you can't wait to move out someday and call your own shots
But don't make her drop you off around the block
Remember that she's getting older too
And don't lose the way that you dance around in your pj's getting ready for school
That verse was me. That whole, "there's just so much you can't do."
That was me.
I wanted to be treated as an adult way before I actually was one. I didn't want to be one of the little girls. I think I missed out on a lot of experiences because I was too worried that I'd look like I was still a very small person. I was waaaaay more outgoing when I was little. (Now, I'm quite possibly the most introverted person in the family...) But then, nothing bothered me, really. I couldn't wait to get a job and have a life.
And then... ... ... Real life started.
Suddenly, I'm not footloose and fancy free. Suddenly I am an adult and adult things that I need to do come crashing in, and I'm not ready.
I hate change.
And the last part of the song is me at the moment.
Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room
Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home
Remember the footsteps,
remember the words said
And all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone
So here I am in my new apartment
In a big city,
they just dropped me off.
It's so much colder than I thought it would be
So I tuck myself in......
and turn my night light on
Wish I'd never grown up
I wish I'd never grown up
Oh I don't wanna grow up, wish I'd never grown up
I could still be little
Oh I don't wanna grow up, wish I'd never grown up
It could still be simple.
And yeah. There you go. That's why I love that song. It's me.
Silly me. *Sheepish grin*
I think I'm just going to post this without re-reading it, so I don't get too embarrassed and decide not to.
