Picture Saturday--Squeak!

No, I did not draw that. lol!

But that has kind of been my mindset of late... I go though these silly times where I think, "I just want to fine my guy already!" sniffle.

Sigh.

Anyway!

                                                          This picture inspired it.




I didn't copy it, I just took the basic set-up, because it makes me feel all happy inside.




    And I loved the way my guy's face turned out. He looks Scottish!

That's it for now... we're going to watch a movie... I think it's The Mummy. (Brenden Frasier is hilarious in that.)

Picture Saturday-- Kiss me?

I've been in that kind of mood recently. lol...

Her face is... skewed. But hey.... **grins**

Picture Saturday-- We're not sure what she is.

So I'm going to call her a fairy pirate.

I don't know what it is about me, but lately I have not been able to draw humans. I mean.... Even if I'm trying to draw a human, it always ends up looking more.... pixie-ish. Which is unbelievably irritating. *scowls*

Her stockings are actually a bit more brown, but the camera simply decided not to show that.

She is cute, eh? lol... I find myself quite fond of her face.













However, I can't decide whether I prefer her colored in or in black and white.

I don't know why the stupid images aren't lining up. They're the exact same size, and they line up fine in the draft form. But once I hit 'publish' they go all wonky on me. :(

How 'bout you? Black and white or coloured?

I believe I shall call her Captain Jackie Firesword.

And someday, when I have time. I shall write a story about Fairy Pirates. *rubs hands together gleefully.* I inspire myself!

Picture Saturday....

It's official.

     Picture Friday is moving to Picture Saturday, because my Fridays are much too busy. Much, much too busy. It got to the point where I'd be like, "Eeek! I need to draw!!!" and then.... my drawing hand would cramp up. You may not believe this, but when I feel pressure to draw, my talent deserts me. It runs away. Far, far away. **waves**
   
     I feel so unloved when it does that to me. How could you, Talent? I trusted you!
   
     Ahem.
     In which case, since I feel much less pressure to draw on a Saturday, when I don't have much to do, Picture Friday has packed it's bags and resigned, and the new employee, Picture Saturday is all ready to take it's place. **happy smile**

     And so here it is, our very first Picture Saturday. I believe it's already doing better. =)

In case you're wondering, the reason she's pushing the cup of coffee is because
she got her cloak caught under it. It didn't photograph very well. **sigh**

I have to admit, I'm really rather proud of the way the fairy turned out. Her clothes look pretty good. And you should be proud of me: I didn't use an ounce of purple.

It's that day again. :)

I basically forgot about it until around three, when my sister said, "Isn't it Art Friday?"

Eh.

So I pulled out my paper and began scribbling frantically.

I think it turned out pretty good despite all odds. lol...

   I need to work on landscapes, but I'm absurdly proud of the mountains anyway.

So yeah... Ahem.

I'm not sure if she is cramming for a finals or researching for a historical novel, but either way, I find myself very proud of the angle of her face. =)

Picture Friday-- Iron Man

Tony Stark, "Iron Man. That's kind of catchy. It's got a nice ring to it. I mean, it's not technically accurate. the suit is a gold titanium alloy, but it's kind of provocative; the imagery anyway." (from Iron Man)

In case you people haven't noticed, I've sort of been on an Avengers high recently. So yesterday I was cleaning my room, listening to the Iron Man soundtrack... and I decided to draw him.

    (If you can't read it, the writing above his head says, "A wise man once said, "Is it better to be feared or respected?" And I say, is it too much to ask for both?")

    I began by drawing all the basic shapes of it, the egg-shaped helmet, his torso was teardrop shaped, his shoulder a very large circle... And I tried to make it as accurate as possible. And proportioned correctly.


     It wasn't until I started doing trying to get Iron Man suit aspects of it that I wondered if this was that great of an idea. I mean, can you see all the crevices? And different angles? And the nuts and bolts? Eeesh. It's hard.

 
   About an hour into it, this was how my sketch looked:


   Yeah, I thought it looked pretty okay.


    I outlined it in black pen...

And then I started shading. (In pencil, so I could erase if I messed up.) This also took about an hour.









Finally I started the coloring in process. I had to combine orange, grey, and purple to the the suit color. It took a while. But I think it turned out awesomely.

Just sayin'.

What do you think? Pretty good? Fairly accurate? AWESOME? lol.. Be honest.

Picture Friday-- Fairy

Okay, here it is!

Fairies are fun to draw, you can do lots of weird things with their design, and they still look pretty. =) 

I promise to start doing some more in depth drawings at some point... but right now we have company up and my mom is out of town, so all the Donna Domestic stuff (cooking, cleaning, hostess-ing, etc.) rest rather heavily on yours truly's shoulders. 

Sigh.

     As an aside, my sister showed me The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and last night we watched the last three episodes. I actually recommend that series, it's really good, mostly very clean and the main character is a good girl, which is unusual in teen directed shows. 

                    I won't give you any spoilers, here's the trailer:

     I am going to say, though.... It ends on a serious cliff hanger. MAN! And there is no second season.... I signed a petition. Go here and sign it too. Get it back on the air! I want to know how it ends. 

     The last episode finished and I was thinking... "Wait...what? What! What!? WHAT?! WHAT?! They can't just cancel it now!" 

     Forget Team Edward or Team Jacob, I am Team Brian, because Brian is awesome and sweet. **melts**

     You should watch it and discuss the ending with me. lol...

Picture Friday-- Softball

Hallo all you people!

Well I have survived the week and even managed to draw a picture. 

Hopefully this will happen every week?

As it is, however, today was super busy and I only have time for a rather short post because I go to babysit in about twenty minutes and must hurry.... 

My little sister joined a softball team earlier this month, and seeing her running around with her enormous glove and scary green softball, made me decide, "Aha! I know what I shall do for the drawing post!" 

                                             Here it is. Ta-da!

The aforementioned little sister bumped me slightly while I was outlining the whole thing with pen and therein lies the reason why her nose is... weird. I had a moment of loud and irritated outbursts of "Why did you DO that?!" before reconciling myself to the fact that I didn't have time to redo. Sniff. Oh well.

....Also, I decided against doing the girls' softball uniform because they look like this:

           And I'm sorry.... I just can't like it. What's with the tank tops? 

     Wereas, little league outfits are so much more baseball/softball that I did them instead.
