Picture Saturday -- black and white.

BEFORE WE GET THIS PARTY STARTED, I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU!!

Amy and I recorded a duet! It's my newest song obsession,* and you should all check it out.

 *thank you, Angela.

Here you go, I present Fight Song!

Yep that happened. The blooper reel for that is like way longer than the actual video.... We have a really hard time being serious when we're together.

Anyway, I was lazy this week.

I'm having trouble with the words putting into sentence doing.

I have no motivation.

It's kind of like... Draw... or be lazy? Draw or watch Avatar the Last Airbender?

*Ponder ponder ponder*

Avatar then.

So yeah, I don't have a whole lot this week. And I did not feel like coloring stuff in, hence the title.

1.) I want to draw Lark and James SO BADLY. But I can't. Bella said I should try to draw how they make me feel rather than how I imagine them. This made sense, so I gave it a shot.

But this is not, and never will be, James, and I so I tossed Bella's idea out the freaking window.

2.) I did not draw any more guitarists, BUT I'M GONNA. If all plans go well, the next Picture Saturday will be riddled with them. Until then, here have a sadly disproportionate falling person.

3.) We got some really good news last week, and I was super happy about it. Apparently when I'm happy, I draw happy couples.

4.) And vice versa when I'm not happy, I draw dead couples.

(They are both depressingly stiff, and what is he doing... is he biting his bottom lip? What even.)

5.) I'm drawing Phantom paper dolls for a friend of mine, which means I have to relisten to Phantom of the Opera. YOU THOUGHT YOU OBSESSION WAS PETERING OUT. YOU WERE WRONG.

6.) When I'm happy, I just draw couples. And unfortunately, it is really fun to draw kisses. Yes, I'm a giant sap.

7.) I JUST LIKE DRAWING KISSING PEOPLE, BECAUSE I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW, AND I'M JUST LIKE "AAAAAAAAAAGH! ALL THE ROMANCE MUST BE DRAWN!"

Don't you judge me.

Anyway... yeah. Amy and Kit and Sammi are all at Front Sight, and I am not, and I'm sad and lonely. Maybe I'll draw some more sad broken couples.

OKAY now I'm getting weird.

I love you all! Let me know what you thought of the song!

Which drawing is your most favoritest?
Too much kissing? (yeah, prolly.)
Have you watched Avatar?

Okay, Treskie out.

Kay bai.

Ich Liebe Dich

Did you know that liebst means love in German? (At least, according to Google Translate.) And did you further know that liebster means dearest? (also according to Da Google) But I don't get why liebster doesn't mean lover, doesn't that make more sense?

So when people nominate you for the Liebster Award, you're actually getting nominated for the Dearest Award.

You're welcome for that random, useless piece of trivia.

Emily the Fabulous, has nominated Me, the Frenchiest Fry, for the Liebster/Dearest/Lover Award.

Danke! (that's German for thank you.)

Le Rules to describe it are as follows and I quote.

1.) Stink
2.) Stank
3.) Stunk!

Ehem. Actually no, that was a Grinch quote. Le rules are in fact:

1. Give 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions you are given.
3. Nominate 11 other bloggers.
4. Set them 11 questions.
5. Put the award button on your site.

I break rules frequently, because I am like Loki, and I DO WHAT I WANT. So I'm not putting the button on my site. HA. SO THERE, mein liebst. (that's German for my love. WOO!)

Sooooo. I'm going to start with eleven facts about myself.
1.) I'm reading the 100 Cupboards series. (Are you happy now, Hannah?) AND I LOVE THEM. I literally read the first book in one evening. I was quite unashamedly up too late reading it. And the characters have me itching to draw them because... I art. Next Picture Saturday shall be laden with fanart.

2.) I got Starbucks yesterday and it was delish.

3.) I'm really sick of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

4.) Hunter Hayes's new CD is fabulous, and I might need to do a lyric post featuring one of the songs.

5.) We went and watched Maze Runner again. It's still super stressful, even when you know what's going to happen.

6.) Contrary to the way I'm flinging German words around in this post, I don't speak a lick of German. I literally know the German I know because of Hogan's Heroes.

7.) I FINALLY watched the first episode of the new series of Doctor Who and I ALREADY LOVE TWELVE. He's awesome! He's fabulous! He's adorable in a cranky old Scot sort of way. He and Nine are tied for second place in my love of Doctors.

8.) Sometimes when I'm doing deliveries for the florist, I see some pretty frabjous views.

9.) Sometimes when I'm delivering I get stuck in road work for twenty minutes in both directions.

10.) So then I sang loudly along with the radio (falling in love to the beeeat of the musiiic.) with my windows down and the old guy in the car behind me may or may not have caught my eye in my side mirror and laughed.

11.) I was very embarrassed.

Now I'm going to answer the Eleven Questions.
Which are actually twenty-two questions, because I liked Chelsea's.

So Emily's quessies....

1. Which book world would you live in, if you could never return?
Phhht. I'd live in the wold of Howl's Moving Castle.

2. Which book world would you travel to for a week before returning?
Oooh. Ooh. OOOOH. Um. I'd visit Middle Earth. DUH.

3. What book have you been meaning to read forever but just not got round to?
Ehehe. Previously it would have been 100 Cupboards, but now it's probably... um. I tend to read the books I mean to read.

4. What book did everyone else love, but you hated?
BEFORE YOU KILL ME, HEAR ME OUT. I did not like Mockingjay. Mockingjay was depressing. I like my series to end with hope, and it didn't. Also, spoiler alert: I thought it was a bad call to kill Prim. You oughtn't finish a series by killing the character that you started the series to save. And what the heck was up with Gale?

5. What book were you very sceptical about reading but actually loved?
Scorpio Races. I was skeptical and I am ashamed.

6. Fictional crush?
I expect, since the rest of the questions are about books, that this means, book crush and not TV crush. (eheh. I have too many of those at the moment.) RIGHT NOW? My fictional crush is either Gansey or Ronan. (give me two weeks and it will probably be someone else.)

7. Most perfect book ending?
There. Are. So. Many. Um.... Um. Lark is the bomb diggety.

8. What do you do when you're bored?
I AM THE PINTEREST QUEEN. (never mind that I really need to read and draw more.)

9. When did you last cry, and why? (If you want to tell us!)
    Last week.
    I was sad.
There may have been loneliness involved.

10. What's your happy song(s)
Right now, it's Be My Forever by Christina Perri and Ed Sheeran. IT'S SO CUTE. (other times it is You Make Me Smile by Uncle Kracker, which I like because of this video. And this video.

Be My Forever

We're on top of the world.
We're on top of the world now, darling,
so don't let go.
Can I call you mine?
Yeah, can I call you mine for a whole life time?
My heart finally trusts my mind.
And I know somehow it's right.

It's just so cute.

11. And finally, what's your sad song(s)?
Human, by Christina Perri, and Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift.

AND NOW FOR CHELSEA'S QUESTIONS. BOOM SHOCK CLAP.

1) If you suddenly found yourself in a do-or-die situation, what would it be? What single item would you want to have with you (yup, I totally stole this question from another blog)?
Probably a mugging. And I'd like to have a glock, please.

2) Imagine this: the Doctor shows up at your door one day, asking you to travel time and space with him. The only problem is that you have to leave straight away, without saying goodbye to your family. Would you go?
Eheh. Fun fact about me: I'm a coward. So... no. I have a problem where I like to be with my family, and I don't like spur-of-the-moment stuff. So.. much as I LOVE the Doctor? No. Probably not. I KNOW. I AM ASHAMED OF MYSELF.

3) What is the worst book you have ever read?
Probably H.I.V.E. (which stands for the Higher Institute of Villainous Education. Which sounds fabulous. It wasn't. Don't bother.)

4) What is the first thing that comes to mind when I say the word "magic"?

5) Least favourite household chore?
    Bathrooms.
    Like...
    EW.

6) What is your favourite childhood memory?
I used to bike ride up and down the street with the other kids on the block. All day long. Every day. (You know, back when I had friends, and did not suffer from Social Anxiety.) They've all moved away now.

7) If you got to sing a duet with any musician, who would it be?
    JOSH. FREAKING. GROBAN.
    Or the Piano Guys.
    Or Peter Hollens.

8) What qualities do you look for in your future husband?
Oh. Well, he'd need to be Catholic. I'd like him to be thoughtful and funny. I think considering my obsession with the fictional worlds, he'd need to be a bit geeky. And if I had my druthers, he'd be able to fight, sing, and teach me to dance.

And that's why I'm going to be single forever.

9) How would you react if you were told that you are actually the long lost queen of Genovia and you must return there with your grandmother and her cool bodyguard, Joey, to learn how to rule a kingdom before you take the throne on your 21st birthday?

Shut up.
Shut up!
SHUT UP!!

(translation: wow, gee wiz, golly wolly.)

10) Would you eat escargot (it's basically a snail pastry)?
I think I would at least try escargot.
       Caviar on the other hand....

11) *Larry the Cucumber enters the room singing* "And have you ever been to Boston in the faaaaall?"

Ehem. *Treskie clears her throat.*

WELL, I'VE NEVER BEEN TO GREENLAND AND I'VE NEVER BEEN TO DENVER,
AND I'VE NEVER BURIED TREASURE IN ST. LOUIE OR ST. PAUL.
AND I'VE NEVER BEEN TO MOSCOW AND I'VE NEVER BEEN TO TAMPA,
AND I'VE NEVER BEEN
TO BOSTOOOON
IN THEEEEE
FAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL.

You may applaud.

Thank you. Danke. Danke. You are too kind, meine freunde. (German. My friends.)

My questions for the sorry suckers I'm awarding:

1.) Would you rather hang out with Percy Jackson or Harry Potter?
2.) If you suddenly lost your dominant hand, what do you think would be the hardest thing for you to learn to do with your other hand?
3.) Do you prefer pictures or gifs in blog posts?
4.) Let's say I were to suddenly stop blogging. Would you be sad?
5.) What size shoe do you wear?
6.) Does it irritate you when girls in action movies leave their hair down?
7.) Does it irritate you when women wear heels in action movies?
8.) Do you wanna be where the people are, or would you prefer to live under the sea? (Also the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake.)
9.) Can you move all your fingers independently of each other?
10.) What's your first thought when someone wears a red shirt in Star Trek?
11.) Time machine: TARDIS or DeLorean?

And the sorry suckers are:
Jonni @ The Middle Kid
Amy @ Old Fashioned Girl
Ben the Robot @ To Say Nothing of Reality
Miss Melody @ The Splendor Falls on Castle Walls
Anna @ Swing Heil!
Hilda @ Hilda
Seana @ The Totally Insane Writer

And anyone else who feels the urge. Ye may answer in the comment section, (please do, it will be fun.) or post it on your bloggy, just link to meeee.

At least I made it to seven. Normally, I get stuck at like... two.

Boom, tsss.

That is all.

You should be proud, I didn't use a Supernatural gif once.

I'm leaving now.

You miss me already?

Cheers!

Literary Dinner Party!

There has been a severe lack of unique  tags in the blogosphere. But when I saw this over at Cat's blog, I  actually  wanted  to do it! It's coolio! It's a tag in which you plan a dinner party.

But here's the awesome: The guests are all characters from your favorite books!

Isn't that so cool? I mean wow!  I wouldn't have thought of that. :)

Alrighty, here are the questions.

1.) One character who likes to cook.
Rosalind, from The Penderwicks. She's a sweetheart, and I think it would be good for her to get out.

2. One character who has money to fund the party.    I'm going to say..... HALE!!  Sure, maybe he's a bit of a thief.... and he did  bungle up a con job in Barcelona.... (even though everyone agreed that the distraction monkey seemed perfectly well trained at the time.....) But he's funny, and I like him.

If you don't know who he is, you go to the library right now, and check out Heist Society.

3. One character who might cause a scene.
Howl. Howl would definitely cause a scene. Either with his-- and I quote-- "dazzling smile", or his green slime... or he might turn himself into a two year old and go around lisping about his "terrible childhood."

4. One character who is funny/amusing.
Peaceable Drummond Sherwood from the Sherwood Ring. He's.... kind of an outlaw. He says things like, "How marvelous a thing, is the truth, properly manipulated!"
What can I say? I like an outlaw.

5. One character who is super social/popular.
Gabrielle, from Heist Society. She's pretty, blond, and extreeeemely social. She totters around in high heels and cons people. :) She grows on you.

6. One villain.
Julian Verrers, from The Masterful Monk. He's awful. He's.... malicious and hateful, he hates God and kills people!

7. One couple (doesn't have to be romantic).
James and Lark. They're adorable don't even really fall in love until the end of the book, and it's cute. They would bring a lot of banter to the table.

8. One hero/heroine.
Oh..... *Treskie mentally tries sort out all her heroes* Well.... Paul Gray, from Last Crescendo is awesome. Like brilliantly, wonderfully awesome.... I decided that when I get married, I wanted to name my son Paul, after reading that book.

9. One under-appreciated character.
Martitia Howland from They Loved to Laugh. (If you like Eight Cousins, you'll probably like this book. I personally liked it a little better, but... that's me.)

10. One character of your own choosing.
I'm going to go all fangirly here and say, either Percy Jackson, because he's friggen awesome, and I love him. And he really does get cooler in every book. Son of Neptune, anyone? Yeeeaah. (You know I love someone when I draw pictures of them....)

Or Christopher Chant in Conrad's Fate. He's.... hilarious.

I have a thing for hilarious people. I like them better than boring ones. Huh. weird.

Hehehe, This was fun. It was hard, but it was fun. And seriously, who wouldn't dream of having a dinner party with all their favorite book characters at it!?

If you do this tag, let me know! I want to check out your post.

Cheers and God bless!

The Liebster Blog Award!

The lovely Natasha awarded me:

Aww, thanks! :)

                                                       Rules!
1. You must post eleven facts about yourself.
2. You must also answer the eleven questions the awarder has given you and make up eleven questions for your awardees to answer in turn.
3. Tag eleven fellow bloggers
4. Notify them that you've awarded them
5. No tagging back
6. And the eleven blogs you tag must have less than 200 followers.

Right. Okay, so eleven facts about myself...

1.) I quote movies compulsively.

2.) I'm shy in the weirdest way. For example, I have the hardest time going into the grocery store by myself... BUT if someone irritates me, I can win a stare down with a complete stranger no problem.

3.) When I form opinions about something, man... I stick to them. I'm a very black-and-white person, things are either right or wrong and there is no grey area in between. ('Cept in rare cases.)

4.) I am so fond of Equilibrium, but I can't recommend it to many people because it's pretty... dark. (in case the cover didn't give that away) The fight scenes are way over the top, but it's by far better than the Matrix (which I watched with my brother and decided never to make that mistake again... Keanu Reeves is not a strong actor and the plot was lame.)

5.) I find bloopers or gag reels to be the best special feature on movies.

6.) I'm left handed when I write and draw, but do everything else with my right hand. Go figure, eh?

7.) I find people falling down absolutely hilarious. (Providing they don't actually get hurt. Then I feel bad for laughing)

8.) I fractured my left wrist in June when I was nine, and broke my elbow in two places that September. It was a sad, sad story. (And I was so angry when I broke the elbow because I had just gotten the cast off my wrist like two weeks before.)

9.) I type on an average of 62-65 words per minute. THANK YOU, MAVIS BEACON!

10.) I have over a hundred first cousins. No joke.

11.) I am secretly a porcupine............. in disguise.

Okay, now for Tasha's questions.

1.) What is your favorite season? (spring/summer/fall/winter)
oooooh. I like summer the best, but fall comes in a close second

2.) Do you watch more British TV shows or American?
Hmm. Well, we're pretty even when it comes to that. A lot of the time I prefer British to American because their humor appeals to me more. But overall, it's about even.

3.) What's your everyday hairstyle? A ponytail? A braid? A bun?
I vary. Braid, buns, and just leaving it down are my usuals.

4.) Do you sew most of your own clothes or buy them?
I avoid sewing as much as possible if I can help it. So the answer to that would be, I buy. :)

5.) In what year did Columbus sail the ocean blue?
Ooooh that's easy. Columbus sailed the ocean blue in fourteen hundred, ninety-two.

6.) Favorite screen/literary couple?
Natasha! This is hard! Okay... favorite screen couple, definitely the Braddocks from the Cinderella Man, or Rapunzel and Flynn's in Tangled.
Literary.... Oh, James and Lark's from Lark, and Peaceable and Barbara's from Sherwood Ring

7.) Which is your favorite/most read book of the Bible? (Not including Psalms or Proverbs ;)
Erm.... the Apocalypse. "And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars..." That's beautiful, no?

8.) Your favorite TV show when you were a child?
Oh, I liked Star Trek: the Original Series, my dad watched them a lot when he'd get off work. Good memories, people!

9.) Least favorite vegetable?
Greenbeans! Ugh, I can't eat the revolting things.

10.) Do you watch the Marvel superhero films? If so, which is your favorite super hero and why?
Yes. I watch them. They are AWESOME!
Of them, I really honestly cannot decide who's my favorite, they all have their moments of epic-ness.
BUT Captain America is my favorite hero just because he is the only one of them who is a true hero in my mind. He was a hero before he was hero material. Jumping on that grenade? C'mon, people. Who wouldn't love him?

11.) Do you think bow ties are cool?
I know that is a Doctor Who reference, but since I haven't seen that episode, I'm going to say, nah. Bow ties are only cool when worn by guys from the 'forties. Other wise I prefer:

Phew! That took longer than I was expecting. :)

Now, for the 11 questions for those I will award:

1.) Who's you're favorite musician and why? (Does not include singers this time.)
2.) Do you think the Beatles overrated?
3.) Did you ever want to be a Ginger?
4.) QUICK! PICK A NUMBER BETWEEN ONE AND TEN! Now, why did you chose that one? Why!? WHY?!?
5.) How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
6.) Who started the American Navy?
7.) What's your favorite music genre?
8.) Have you ever played baseball? (even in the backyard with friends works.)
9.) What are your top five favorite books? (because I know that I can never chose just one)
10.) What is your favorite accent?
11.) Do you know the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything?

And now for my awardees. :)

1.) Cat
2.) Rose
4.) Mel
5.) Mahri
6.) Marlene E
8.) Hilda
9.) Amy
10.) Sophie
11.) Anna

THERE! I did it! I managed to tag all eleven people! I haven't been able to reach my quota on these things the past few times. :)

Ooh, and as a random aside.... Did blogger eat anyone else's pageviews? I was almost at 4000 and I logged on to write this post and it said............ 4!!!!.

Bloggeeeerrrrr!!!!! How could you? Now I have to start all over!

And there.

I have ranted.

Goodbye.
