Life Update || All the new things!

Wherein Treskie actually wrote the life post she's been saying she was going to do for months...

Hey guys! And welcome to the not-very-frequent information dump about what happens to be going on in my somewhat dull existence.

Alrighty! So what's been going on since.. gosh the last time I updated was... I don't even remember. June? Well, buckle up, here we  go.

1.) Chloe turned into an Avatar because I bought The Last Airbender series and it made Chloe fangirl. It was adorable.

2.) Sometimes we go to the lake and watch the sunset, because why the heck not, our lake is wonderful.

3.) I BOUGHT A GUN!! And it's so pretty and black and it makes me happy. It's a Glock19, and I want to get to know it so I can actually say that I can shoot well. (We're probably going to go shooting on Sunday. I'm excited.)

4.) We went on a hike up Desolation Wilderness and it was gorgeous. It always amazes me how I can live here my whole life and still have my breath taken away by a view. Like wow, God is so good.

5.) I saw this sign while I was delivering flowers, and that's just a testimony of how contrary I am. Because I saw it, and my initial reaction was, "No! Don't tell me what to do!" (A friend of ours has taken to calling me 'Your Honor' because I'm so judgemental. I think it's accurate.)

6.) I went on a boat for the first time ever... which is weird, considering we live like five minutes away from the lake. But whatever... Let me just say: Holy goodness, that's one amazing ride, people.

7.) We walked around in Hope Valley, and it's so pretty there. I think I want to go again, now that the leaves have probably changed color. (Everything turns gold and it's amazing.)

8.) And finally!! I actually went through with it, and chopped my hair off! (I know, crazy, right?)

Not gonna lie, I really, really like it. I'm absurdly pleased with myself for doing the thing. (Anyone who knows me or has followed my blog for any length of time, knows that I do not like trying new things. So getting my hair cut was a way bigger deal than it should have been.)

(Just so you know, I don't usually take this many selfies. BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE PONYTAIL? I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A PONYTAIL THAT FLIPS LIKE THAT.)

That is the last selfie I'm going to post for a while, because I'm really not a selfie-just-to-selfie kind of girl. But yeah, I'm really happy with the hairstyle. I think it suits me so... yay.

9.) I'm currently feeling very sentimental about Roy Mustang. *Facepalm*

10.) And also about the Magnificent Seven because reasons.

Anyway!

It looks like we're going to take the gun class at Front Sight next month. (*Cue panicked screaming from the general area of Treskie*) Hopefully I will not have to go to jury duty, because that would suck, and I wouldn't be able to shoot things at Front Sight. So if you could maybe just say a quick prayer that I don't have to go, that would be wonderful. I have to check on Friday. (*Dies inside*)

Question time!
What's new with you guys?
Have you ever been on a boat?
Have you ever used a gun?

I love you all!

La Vita

Sometimes all the best laid plans just fall through and it makes me super sad because I was going to do all these fun sorts of pictures and drawings for this Picture Saturday in preparation for Valentine's Day... and it fell through.

I don't know....

I know sometimes artists go through these stages where their brain and their hands don't communicate very well, and even when they want to draw, the hand is basically just like, "Nope!"I know it's just something that artists go through, and if I'm gonna be an artist, I have to learn to deal with it, but it seems to be happening to me an awful lot lately. And there are fewer things more depressing than having a day off and wanting to draw and not being able to.

Like seriously, it's so irritating, because you know you know how to do this! This is easy art! And your hand won't art, and you just sit there crying like, 'PLEASE ART."

So you sit there, drawing and erasing, and drawing, and erasing and by the time you're done your paper is basically a crinkled giant smudge, and you're sitting in the middle of the living room eating nutella with a spoon and listening to Grande Amore. Because if anyone can make you feel better, it's Il Volo.

So yeah, that's why there was no Picture Saturday-- or Sunday, for that matter.

Lots of frustrations.

I might try to pre-schedule a post for this coming weekend, because I just know that if I don't, there won't be one..... Since I work at a flower shop and it's Valentine's Week. Which is fine, it comes with the territory, but overall the week ends up being kind of exhausting.

I'm consoling myself with the fact that MY ENTIRE FAMILY is going to Disneyland on the 16th,* and Sammi's gonna join us, and we're literally going to take Disneyland by storm and it's going to be epic.

*Reason #4455 why my brother is cooler than your brother.

Speaking of which, we're going to be gone over that weekend. Would one of you fabulous people like to guest post for that Picture Saturday? You could do a photodump, or just one picture that you've worked on, or you could talk technique or which medium is your favorite. It's up to you.

Also, the first bit of this year's going to be fun, because we have Disneyland in February, I'm going to visit my sister and her family in March, (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and in April there's Joe's wedding.

Life can can be so chaotic and insane and for people like me, it's hard to deal with it sometimes, because A.) I don't like change and B.) I literally stress out over everything. It's so stupid! I'm aware it's stupid! I know that normal people don't live their lives with a perpetual sick feeling in their stomach, but that's just the way my life is.

*I need to go to work? Sick feeling in my stomach.
*I need to go grocery shopping? BY MYSELF? Sick feeling intensifies.
*I need to find another job? Develops ulcer.

Actually, speaking of ulcers, I have a jury summons for the 29th of this month, so if I could get everyone to pray that I don't have to go, I will love you all forever.

We had some friends come up over night on Saturday and we stayed up late watching Ip Man and Leverage and basically partied like old people. We always forget to take pictures, but we all get along so well, we literally have conversations like:

Us: STATING A THING VERY LOUDLY.
Them: OMG RIGHT? RIGHT?
Us: YOU AGREE WITH EVERYTHING.!
Them: WE KNOW! AAAAAGH.

And then we proceed to yell at each other about fandoms and books and self-defense and it's great fun all 'round.

I don't even know, guys, this post is super rambly.

There's this song that mah guys sing, called La Vita, and when I looked up the English lyrics, it was like a perfect representation of my mood and so I'm going to leave you with this rough translation and call it a night.

Life
Is there anything realer in the world
And we almost never notice it
Almost never, almost never
Sometimes we have a sort of fear of life
because there are many things
That aren't okay in life

What do we expect, what do we expect from life?
No, it's impossible to waste this life

Life
Nothing's as wonderful as life
And maybe many people don't know

Life
Is there anything realer in the world
And we almost never notice it
Almost never, almost never
Life.

And it tripped me up a little, because of reasons.

So there you go. I'm sorry there was no art this week. I shall do my best to make sure there is art Saturday morning next time!

I love you all!

Lifey Update

It's December!

Which means I am insanely busy with Christmas preparations, which means I haven't been drawing as much.

It's December!

Which means Advent is here, and I love Advent!

It's December!

Which means, due to the random changes in temperature, I am sick, which mean I haven't been drawing as much.

It's December!

Which means.... a lot of the drawings I have been doing are Christmas pressies and I can't show them until after Christmas.

And those are the reasons why I missed Picture Saturday. (I'm sure you were all so sad.*)

*cough

I'm going to try to post this coming Saturday, but I have a vague notion that a lot of us are going Christmas shopping that day, so you never know, it might end up being Picture Sunday again. In all actuality, I should probably switch it to Sunday officially, because I seem to be busy a lot on Saturdays. But I don't want to, because I kind of think Picture Saturday is my trademark, and it seems weird to change that. (Is it my trademark? Do I even have a trademark?)

Whatever.

I have quite a few posts planned for the next couple of weeks before Christmas. (I received a bookish tag from Hannah, which I plan on doing for one...) BUT don't hold me to that, because I'm easily distracted by shiny things and I might forget.

Anyway, yeah.

Are you interested to know what's going on with me?

1.) Sometimes we go to the lake and it's just so pretty, we have to take lots of pictures

2.) Sometimes it's so cold, even my coffee cup needs a sweater.

3.) Sometimes Amy and I take pictures of Christmas tree decorations.

4.) Sometimes I take pictures at stop signs and thank God for letting me live here.

5.) Sometimes I yell, "SMILE!" and people actually do.

6.) Sometimes I ask Chloe and Sam if they want to take a picture, and they go, "YASSS."

7.) Sometimes I film myself drawing and it's weird. But here, have a sneak peak of what's going to be in the next Picture Saturday.

8.) Sometimes my sister in the Midwest tells me she wants more pictures of the family, and I shamelessly hold up my phone and snap a selfie. Just for her.

9.) Sometimes Charlie Brown is me.

10.) Sometimes Kit and I set up our Christmas tree while listening to a mixture of Christmas music, like Bing Crosby, Hayley Westenra, Josh Groban, and Il Volo. (Because no one can ham up "Let it Snow" quite like my Italian boys.)

11.) Sometimes it snows.

Question Time!

Does it snow where you live?
Have you set up your Christmas tree yet?
Are you sick with some stupid cold?
Do you love the Christmas Season?

I love you all! Merry Christmas!

Lifey Upate || September & October

Everyone seemed to be really happy about the idea of another lifey post, so I figured why not-- It's been a great long while, and it would be fun.

So here's what's been going on in my life lately.

1.) Chloe and Sammi moved out, which made everyone very sad, they've been here so long, they pretty much ended up being little sisters rather than nieces. Ugh, I miss them when they're not here.

2.) This happened after the tragic baseball game, when Spencer was a smug little stinker because his team won, and mine didn't. (Actually, he tried really hard not to be smug, but he couldn't help it.)

3.) Sometimes I just take pictures of my mommy because I love my mommy. (Ignore the shredded canopy in the background, we got hail, and it couldn't cope.)

4.) All my favorite shows are starting to come back on air and it just makes me so happy. WE SURVIVED HIATUS!!!

You can practically hear the fandoms waking up and being like, "Aw yiss, TIME TO TAKE OVER TUMBLR."

5.) This is what it looks like when most of the family wants to watch the Peter Hollens video too.

6.) I heard this song on Pandora a few weeks ago... and I don't know. I love it. It just.... I love it.

7.) On National Coffee Day, Amy and I did the obvious thing, and went for Starbucks, because coffee.

8.) I cracked myself up.

9.) Toinkyface draws too, and ohmygoodness, my brain shuts down at how cute it is.

10.) I helped Amy film her newest video, and we ended up in Hope Valley, because reasons.

And then I got bored and took a plethura of selfies, because that's how I do.

And then we did the obvious thing and stood in the middle of the road, because that's what roads are for.

11.) When Chloe and Sammi visit it's a good time. (Yes, Cooney and Tiger had to be in the picture too.)

12.) Sometimes when we come around the Lake, it's the most beautiful thing you'll ever see.

13.) So I totally dyed a rainbow stripe into my hair, because I'm Rainbow Dash.

14.) My brother-in-law is coming up for a visit on Saturday, and I'm super excited, because he's the best, and I love him. :)

15.) Il Volo has a new CD and wow they've grown up. BUT YEAH OKAY STILL SUPER ATTRACTIVE, AND WOW ONLY ITALIANS CAN SHMOOZE MUSIC SO WELL. Ugh. I hate them. *pants*

16.) This happened when I was playing a game....

And oops, my hand slipped.

Yep, that's it. That's what's going on with me.

What's going on with you??

Are any of your fandoms airing again? WHICH ONES?
