Life Update || My Life is Boring

It hasn't really been that eventful of a life lately.

I mean yeah, I do things... on occasion. But mostly I like things to be quiet and not stressful, so not a lot's been going on lately.

Buuut let's see, since I last posted a life update, (in January! Horrors!) here's what's been going on!

1.) Right about the middle of January, it started to snow. And snow. And snow. It was probably the single biggest winter we've had in about 10 years. Now, being local to where I live, I grew up with giant winters, and even though it's been a while since we got that much snow, it wasn't that big a deal to me. Like, yeah, you had to wait for the plow trucks to come by before you can leave. Whatever. That's just a normal Tahoe winter.

It didn't occur to me that going so long without a proper amount of snow, the people in our little snow town would become pansies and forgot how to drive, shovel, and plow. LIKE YES, HI, SLOW DOWN, SHOVEL YOUR DRIVEWAY BEFORE IT GETS TO THREE FEET, AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, PLEASE PLOW THE HIGHWAY BEFORE PEOPLE DIE. Thank you!

2.) Amy took this ridiculous picture of me and my horrible blue purse.

3.) I took a lot of pictures of snow when I was out doing deliveries. It was amazing and gorgeous and holy cow, I live here.

4.) Right before Easter I chopped off more hair, and it was absurdly short. I liked the way it looked, but I decided I prefer it when it's long enough to do things with.

5.) The lake had this gorgeous green line in it, and I was like, "WHAT BEAUTY!"

6.) I went to this creek quite a bit, before the run-off made it swell up and flood. It was nice.

7.) My boss got me this cup, and seeing as she got similar ones for Kat and Amy (that say "Sweetie" and "Grace" respectively), I'm not exactly sure what this means lol.

8.) My sister's family came up for a visit at the beginning of June, and I was finally able to meet my adorable godson, Charlie. He's actually the cutest little guy.

He made me very happy lol. LOOK AT HIS LITTLE SQUISHY FACE!

I took an awful lot of pictures while they were here, but I'm not sure how much Laura wants her kids' faces plastered all over the internet, so here, look at this one. We went to the Salmon Run and it was too flooded to walk all the way through. I've never ever seen it that full.

9.) About this point, I discovered that my hair was long enough to make anime updos.

10.) Amy and I went up in the gondola for the first time ever. (I know, we live here, but that's a tourist thing, so locals tend to stay away.) We had to do a wedding delivery, so we went up for free, perks of the job. lol.

I spent most of the ride going, "I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it.." because I'm afraid of heights and it's scary.

11.) I'm 22 now.

12.) The 4th of July was fun.

Kat made the coolest cake, cause she's awesome.

13.) I got the prettiest picture of my mommy.

14.) My nieces came up for a couple days and we were really excited to be going for froyo.

15.) I manage the social media at the flower shop, and sometimes the only way to get a proper picture of a flower crown is to pose for it. (Actually if you guys like looking at flowers, you should follow us on facebook and instagram.)

16.) I FINALLY STARTED AN ART INSTAGRAM PAGE! And I post there almost every day, so if you prefer that way of seeing my art, please do take a look. #shamelesslyselfpromoting.

So yeah.. it hasn't been a hugely exciting first half of 2017. It's been kind of an tough year. Lots of good.. but lots interestingly things too.

That being said, I am currently watching Age of Ultron and munching on delicious popsicles, so that's a very good thing.

There's a really good I've been listening to a lot lately, it's called My Girl and it's by Dylan Scott. You should check it out. :)

SO!
Question Time!
What's going on with you?
Anything new?
Have you heard that song?

I love you all!

Ordinary Life Adventures: Life since March

Is anyone else baffled by the fact that it's June?

Hello.

I've been promising a life update post for ages now, and since this week was a bust, drawing wise, I'm going to take this time to edit pictures and actually keep that promise.

Let's see, since my last update...

I did some more visiting with my lovely sister and her family. Ugh, their kids are the cutest.

"Quick, make a funny face!"

Because when your niece wants to try on all the sunglasses, you let her, cause it's freaking adorable....

Sometimes the best things in the world are the silly little moments that aren't that special, but turn out to be the ones that mean the most, like.... when Jessica, my li'l Mono-Mono, wore her birthday crown upside down and helped make her own birthday cake....

Or when she was so delighted by her birthday balloon that she kept bouncing it up-and-down and giggling.

Or just.... all of these.

I know what you're thinking, and her nose was just itchy.

I drove all the way up to California from Montana with them, and it was great fun, despite almost sliding into a police officer and getting back pains from sitting too long. (Also, tickle fights with the driver is monstrous fun because the passenger (me), automatically has the advantage, and I love that.)

Maria and Tim are best buds and took loads of opportunities to show it.

My brother got married to the best of girls, and it's the first wedding I've been to where I actually had fun. I danced (twice!), and the crowd of us that sat at the same table were all a blast to be around, and it was kind of golden, that day.

Chloe and Sammi Toink were absolutely enchanted by baby Dominic and have decided that they want a baby brother ASAP.

Sometimes we teach our nieces and nephews a few things that could come in  handy later.

And other times we walk to the beach and frolic...

Sometimes we go out for sushi, and marvel at how much we like it.

Anyone else go to Civil War and marvel* at how well they portrayed both sides of the argument? Even if I'd wanted to, I couldn't have chosen a side, (and since I was aggressively Team Get Along, it was doubly hard.) and right now, I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO BE BROS AGAIN.

*See what I did there?

We went on a hike up by Fallen Leaf Lake and it was glorious. (Apart from a few... hiccups. *Looks accusingly at someone*)

I WAS CONTACTED BY VIDA AND IT'S COOL, AND I'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED, BECAUSE IT'S VERY EXCITING AND I'M SO THRILLED I MAY TAKE A NAP.

Toink picked me flowers and it was the sweetest thing of ever.

It's been a tricky couple of weeks for me. We've got some stuff going on that's kind of overwhelming and I wasn't up to drawing. Which is unfortunate, because I have lots of inspiration for it, I'm just tired and unmotivated.

I've been getting in some sick hours at work, which is good, cause I'm kinda feeling broke-ish.

We went shooting again, which is most agreeable after a bad week, and I'm seriously considering buying a glock 19, cause it's fits my tiny hands, and it's good for concealed carry, and I want that. lol.

Sometimes the only thing that makes me feel better is listening to Il Volo sing.

Other times it's ice cream.

I'm going to be 21 in like two weeks, and this delights me.

I feel like I was going to say something super poetic, or super funny, but I can't remember which, so here's a picture of Amy and I after successfully setting up a wedding.

Question Time!
What's the best thing that's happened to you since March?
Do you like sushi?
Do you normally have fun at weddings?
How are you even doing?

Love you all!

Lifey Update

It's December!

Which means I am insanely busy with Christmas preparations, which means I haven't been drawing as much.

It's December!

Which means Advent is here, and I love Advent!

It's December!

Which means, due to the random changes in temperature, I am sick, which mean I haven't been drawing as much.

It's December!

Which means.... a lot of the drawings I have been doing are Christmas pressies and I can't show them until after Christmas.

And those are the reasons why I missed Picture Saturday. (I'm sure you were all so sad.*)

*cough

I'm going to try to post this coming Saturday, but I have a vague notion that a lot of us are going Christmas shopping that day, so you never know, it might end up being Picture Sunday again. In all actuality, I should probably switch it to Sunday officially, because I seem to be busy a lot on Saturdays. But I don't want to, because I kind of think Picture Saturday is my trademark, and it seems weird to change that. (Is it my trademark? Do I even have a trademark?)

Whatever.

I have quite a few posts planned for the next couple of weeks before Christmas. (I received a bookish tag from Hannah, which I plan on doing for one...) BUT don't hold me to that, because I'm easily distracted by shiny things and I might forget.

Anyway, yeah.

Are you interested to know what's going on with me?

1.) Sometimes we go to the lake and it's just so pretty, we have to take lots of pictures

2.) Sometimes it's so cold, even my coffee cup needs a sweater.

3.) Sometimes Amy and I take pictures of Christmas tree decorations.

4.) Sometimes I take pictures at stop signs and thank God for letting me live here.

5.) Sometimes I yell, "SMILE!" and people actually do.

6.) Sometimes I ask Chloe and Sam if they want to take a picture, and they go, "YASSS."

7.) Sometimes I film myself drawing and it's weird. But here, have a sneak peak of what's going to be in the next Picture Saturday.

8.) Sometimes my sister in the Midwest tells me she wants more pictures of the family, and I shamelessly hold up my phone and snap a selfie. Just for her.

9.) Sometimes Charlie Brown is me.

10.) Sometimes Kit and I set up our Christmas tree while listening to a mixture of Christmas music, like Bing Crosby, Hayley Westenra, Josh Groban, and Il Volo. (Because no one can ham up "Let it Snow" quite like my Italian boys.)

11.) Sometimes it snows.

Question Time!

Does it snow where you live?
Have you set up your Christmas tree yet?
Are you sick with some stupid cold?
Do you love the Christmas Season?

I love you all! Merry Christmas!
