All hail American pride!

And yes, that means even the British.

We won that war.

*waves at British*

Hehehe. Okay enough.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light?
Once so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Who's broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight...
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.

And the rocket's red glare!
The bombs bursting in air!
Gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there!

Oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave?
O'er the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave.

I'm always proud of being American. I think we're awesome. I mean, yeah, there are going to be those idiots who give America a bad name. *cough certain leader cough.* But in general, America's pretty epic, and I consider myself quite lucky to be one.

But the Fourth always gets me like, "YAY 'MURICA. LAND OF THE FREE. RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. HOME OF THE BRAVE! RA RA RA. ONE NATION UNDER GOD!

And frankly, anyone who says anything bad about my country on this day of independence is likely to get my independent fist in their subservient nose.

Today was nice. It was the first day off I've had all week, so I'm quite delighted to be home and not... at work.

Anyway, I always wear a combination of the flag's colors, because that's what I DO on the 4th. I also wore the necklace that Mahri made me. ('Cause Mahri made me a really, really awesome Winter Soldier inspired necklace. All you guys are now jealous. Mwuahaha.)

There was lots of food, and talking. We do that. Today, talk was mostly Prison Break. We do talk fandoms.

On a random note, it was my birthday a few days ago. Thanks to my brother I am now the proud owner of a pretty new phone.

LALALALALALALALALALA.

On another note, I have been working all day, every day, all week this week.... Yay, adulting.

This means I've been too tired to draw. Sadness!!

..... that's all for tonight.... because I'm tired, it's the Fourth of July, (yay, Murica!) and we're watching Psych.

Cait, watch this after Prison Break.

God bless America!

On my birthday and the 4th of July

So, as of a few days ago, I am officially an adult in the USA. BOOYA!!

The Sketch Pad of Awesomeness
Gel Pens of Awesomeness.
A couple of adorable journals. (apparently, I'm going to be journaling a lot this year)
PERFECT SCOUNDRELS!!!!!!!! (already finished it. It was awesome. I love Hale.)
HUNTER HAYES ENCORE!! I about passed out with that one.

Yeah.... my family rocks. It's just fantastic having a a big family.... so many pressies on birthdays, you guys. Hahaha!

Anyway, moving on. The 4th of July was epic. It always is. I mean duh. I was there. *grins cheekily*

I went all patriotic and wore the good ol' red, white, and blue, even going so far as to paint the fingernails. (I never paint mah fingernails.)

So, I read Perfect Scoundrels all morning, until everyone came over and the fun began for real. Hee! I made peanut butter and banana smoothies, and they were very awesome. *nods*

I took pictures of the little girls hula-hooping.....

And drew a little in the Sketch Pad of Awesomeness.

And read a bit more.

Reading is a big thing with us.

It was so hot, you guys. Too hot to do anything active during the afternoon except sit and talk.

And eat. We must have food to have fun. It is the way of the family.

Or play in the kiddie pool.

When it cooled down, however, we played badminton. Wooooot!

I make such stupid faces when I play.

That game was so exciting, look at how exciting it was!!

ICE COLD WATERMELON!!!!!

We finished off the day with a bonfire, and s'mores and storytelling. (it was about fairies, and a knight, and a dragon, and an evil guardian, and then we stopped.)

I take terrible selfies. *grumble grumble*

All in all, it was a grand and glorious day. I get all all, "AMERICA! RA! RA!" on the 4th of July.

I'm American and proud of it. So there. :)

So, how was your 4th? I want to know!!

Cheers and God bless!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day to everyone!

Almost everybody (in the United States, at least...) know the first verse of The Star Spangled Banner. (You ought to if you're an American! If not...learn it.) But I think...the fourth verse is one of my favorites.

"Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand,
between their loved home, and war's desolation.
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven rescued land
praise the Power that hath made, and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause, it is just.
And thus be our motto: "In God is our Trust"
Then the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave,
O'er the Land of the Free, and the home of the brave."

You have to admit, those are pretty awesome lyrics. And call me biased--I probably am-- but I think Americans have one of the coolest national anthems in the world. (One of the hardest to sing, too. But hey...)

Righty, I'm off to celebrate. Barbeque, games, listening to patriotic music, like Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue, God Bless America, American Soldier, all that stuff. :) ... and s'mores tonight.

Brownie points to anyone who knows who wrote the The Star Spangled Banner. WITHOUT googling it!

God bless,
