Literally me every night: "I am very tired, Lord. It's after midnight, and I would like to sleep."
Literally me every morning: *Peers at clock* "It is six o'clock and I didn't get to sleep until super late last night. I am very tired, Lord."
Literally me every day: "I am very, tired, Lord."
And that is my story.
Sorry this is late, I got distracted yesterday, so Picture Saturday got delayed. (Amy and I were working on something for the channel....)
I'm also relistening to all my musicals and getting emotional over them, because basically, music makes me feel things.
1.) Did I relisten to Phantom? Why, yes. Yes I did.
2.) I'm singing I Dreamed a Dream for one of my final songs in singing class. (AW YISS, SO FUN.) But the first time I printed the sheet music, the printer spazzed out, so I had these half-printed musical sheets that I felt bad wasting. So I drew this during the ten-minute break at class.
Yeah, her face is a little squashy, shush. |
3.) Which led me to go, "Oooooooooooooh." And so I doodled across the un-transposed sheet music for my other solo.
4.) Attempted to draw Hale and failed exceptionally.
5.) I started this one and decided to finish it later, because I was tired, and could not even.
6.) Ehem. I'm feeling the urge to draw Christine a lot these days, because basically, her hair is the best thing since sliced bread, and POTO is the king of all musicals. SO... Here, have an inked in sketch of her going, "TRY TO FORGIVE, TEACH ME TO LIIIIIVE, GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO TRYYY!" Because reasons.
Anyway, yeah. I'm planning on drawing more next time, but I can't promise, since it's going to be a really long week at the flower shop. I'd like to draw some actual pictures of the Phantom, since it's his musical, after all, and I barely pay attention to him. (I'm more like, "RAOUL AND CHRISTINE ARE GOLDEN LITTLE GUMMY BEARS OF CUTENESS" #OTP.)
I'd like to color several of the black and whites that I've posted lately....
And I want to draw Christina Grimmie, because her death hit me really hard and I want to pay tribute to her somehow.
Until then, here, have a video that made me cry like a baby.
Yours, ever so sincerely,
Oh the hair in #6 THE HAIRRRRRR. It's beautiful. It's beyond beautiful. <3
ReplyDeleteAnd I didn't actually know who Christina Grimme was before she died, but it's still so super sad. Humans can be so rotten. :(
HAIR IS THE MOST FUN TO DRAW. LIKE FOR REAL.
Deletemmm I was actually subscribed to her on youtube and so it was like, "WHAT?!" Yeah... it was a huge tragedy.
Lovely, lovely drawings - as usual. And Christine's hair... YES. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, have you listened to Hamilton yet? It has been my OBSESSION for the last month or two. It's definitely very different from all the musicals that you seem to like, but I adore it, and I'm really curious to see if you've tried it. Basically I try to bring Hamilton into every conversation to see if I can find someone with the same breed of insane love.
I've been subscribed to Christina for years and her death was so, so sad and shocking. I hadn't seen Tyler Ward's tribute... Thank you for sharing.
Hahah thank you! Everyone's been mentioning Christine's hair... AND THAT'S LIKE THE ONE THING THAT IS SO EASY FOR ME LOL.
DeleteI want very much to like Hamilton, and from what I've heard, it's really good! But... rap bothers me. LOL I need to be in the mood for something out of my usual genre, and I'm not... SO I'M GONNA WAIT A BIT, cause I'd like to like it. lol.
Yeah.. I've kind of been sick about it since I found out. she was so young. Tyler Ward is gold though...
I'm not usually a fan of rap either... as a genre it tends to be kind of filthy, so there's that. But Hamilton!!! The storytelling and lyrics and music and voice talent are all phenomenal. When you're in the mood, definitely try it out - I'd love for you to love it. ;) Also, did you mean to paraphrase a line from the musical?!?! Cuz that was epic. If you weren't intending that, well, don't mind me - I conjure references to Hamilton from just about every fifth word I encounter these days. :D
DeleteHahaaha... so I listened to it. AND it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting! I mean, I didn't expect a lot from it, because I have reservations about changing the race of the Founding Fathers... (I mean, if someone wrote a musical about George Washington Carver and made him white there would be a riot, but since they're white being changed into blacks, it's okay??)
DeleteBut he did manage to capture the awesomeness of the Revolutionary War era and that was cool. I should listen to it again. Alexander was a jerk to Eliza though, and that made me mad lol.
BUT OKAY I DID CRY WHEN PHILIP DIED BECAUSE SUPERB VOICE ACTING RIGHT THERE. HOT DANG. ZEESH.
Also... ehe. No I wasn't paraphrasing, what line did you think I was paraphrasing???lol
Yay!!! *cue sobs and singing and dancing* I'm so glad that you gave it a chance. :D I've lost count of how many times I've listened to it, and it still seems flawless to me. Eh, maybe it could do with a little less language so that I could share it with my youngest siblings.
DeleteI actually like the racially diverse casting. The founding fathers were all white, but that's because of black slavery and oppression. If that shameful part of our history didn't exist, black men would have had the opportunity for leadership roles in our nation's founding. Part of the reason that a white George Washington Carver would cause outrage, is that he succeeded so amazingly in the midst of unfair and oppressive circumstances (based solely on the color of his skin!).
Alexander was a jerk and I want to slap him, and I want to give Aaron a hug, and hang out with Angelica and Eliza, and tell Philip to not get so fired up about the Hamilton name, and sing a super catchy song with King George. So many things. :D
When you said, "SO I'M GONNA WAIT A BIT", all I heard was Aaron singing "I'm gonna wait for it!" *sighs* I'm hopeless... :D
hahaha. I give almost everything a chance at least once. lol. (But hey, if you've listened to it so much, you prolly know where all the bad language is, so you could mute it for your younger siblings....)
DeleteNo, no, I know that. And in all honesty, if it had just been a period drama, I wouldn't have minded, but as it is, I get a little hung up on the fact that it's so historically inaccurate.
He really really was. Like PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WIFE AND KID YOU HORRIBLE PERSON. (Also BURN.)
oh wow lol.
I get that. Normally I'm the person ruining a movie because I feel the need to point out all the things that are inaccurate and annoyingly modern. Maybe it doesn't bother me in Hamilton because the founding fathers are so well known that hopefully people won't forget the actual historical figures... I dunno. Okay. I'll shut up about Hamilton now. Thanks for talking about it with me! I hope that your week is going well and you are finally getting some sleep!
DeleteOKAY LIKE FOR SOME REASON WHEN PEOPLE HOLD THEIR PENS WRONG IN PERIOD DRAMAS, IT DRIVES ME CRAZY AND FREAKS ME OUT, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HOLD THEM LIKE THAT. LOL.
DeleteThat's a good point though....
And I'm not like... judging you for liking it so much. XD (As you know, I like a LOT of stuff and AWFUL LOT!)
Ah, That whole exhaustion cycle. I know that cycle. All too well.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have to do a 'how to draw curls' tutorial. That's one of the things I'd like to know how to do, but I always have trouble with.
I didn't know much about Christina Grimmie until recently. I'm sorry to hear about her death.
Such a stupid cycle. Like your body knows it needs sleep, and you're just like SLEEP and it WON'T. '
DeleteOh? I might see if I can film one then next time I get more than one day off in a row. lol. Curls are fun.
I know. A lot of people didn't know who she was. IT's really sad.
#1--Yay for Phantom fanart! (Or is that "phanart"? :-) ) This is my favorite drawing for the week, because Phantom--and also because it's a good drawing: the pose is very natural without being stiff. And that hair is gorgeous. Are you going to color the drawing?
ReplyDelete#2--Wow, how cool that you get to sing "I Dreamed a Dream"! (I'm learning "Without A Word" from A Tale of Two Cities!) I like the effect of drawing over the sheet music; that's a nice way to save the paper from being wasted.
#3--Ooh, this one is dramatic! Something about the hair makes it work really well.
#4--I like the pose and the hand/arm resting on the back of the couch. I also admire that you post drawings even if you're not entirely happy with them--still working into that level of relaxation myself. :-)
#5--Nice start! Random detail I like: the ponytail. Well, and her expression.
#6--Wow. Very heartfelt and dramatic; and all that flow-y fabric is gorgeous. Haha, I also draw Christine and Raoul more than the Phantom--actually, I haven't drawn *any* pictures of him. Hmm. Must fix that...
I'm sorry you've been so tired. I've been praying that you'd feel better soon--trying to function normally after sleepless nights is NO FUN. Hope you feel better soon!
1) YAAAAAASSS! Cause phantom OWNS. lol. (I dunno, I think it's technically called phanart, but I prefer fanart. lol.) But wow thank you! I'm trying to decide if I should color it fully, or just little touches. XD
Delete2.) Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaah I had fun with it. XD (*Screaming* I LOVE THAT SONG SO PRETTY) it's super fun to draw on sheet music too, like YASS.
3.) HAIR MAKES EVERYTHING MORE DRAMATIC.
4.) I like the pose, but he's just... so not Hale. I can't draw Hale. Hale is a precious cinnamon roll who must be perfect lol. Aww you'll get there, it takes time. I've been blogging for years. lol.
5.) EHe. I like the expression too, she looks content.
6.) Such sadness in her flowy dress and tresses. lol... RIGHT? He's such a sad character, but he's so overrated, I'm like, NO! Poor Phantom.
ME too. Ugh. lol. Thank you much.
