Picture Sunday || July {1}

I mean at least it's only been three weeks this time.

I swear I will do a lifey post soon! As it is, I've just been really tired lately.

*Blows bangs off forehead*

BUT GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME, SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING WAS SO GOOD! Better than Andrew Garfield's by like 500%. You gotta go see it. There's a couple parts I very much want to draw, because.. yes

That being said, you guys want to see some art?

I've been a sketchy sort of mood, so there isn't much color. The case of the blahs is strong with me.

1.) Anyway! Look at this cute couple, he's enamored and she's oblivious.

2.) I've been on something of a musicals kick lately. Please observe more Phantom fanart because Treskie has no life.

3.) I attempted to get Christine's look of wonder/fear/curiosity, and ended up with deadpan. WOOOO!

4.) BUT THIS ONE TURNED OUT SUPER WELL. My mind went, "This picture, I like it!"

5.) Speaking of musicals, I've been listening to the Symphonic version of Les Mis. (You know, the proper one, with Anthony Warlow and Michael Ball.) That's a good musical, it's fun to sing along to.

But anyway, I was listening to it, and there's that part where Eponine goes, "I like the way you grow your hair.." and, Marius, the magnificently unaware, responds with, "LOL You're so funny, you're like my sister."

And I got this mental image of Eponine looking into the camera like she's in The Office, and cracked up.

6.) This is somewhat belated, but I was feeling exceptionally pro 2nd Amendment this last 4th of July.

7.) Sometimes Kate and Tristan actually act like a real couple.

8.) And Kate reacts sadly. This particular picture is horribly disproportionate and dramatic. Such drama, Kate.

9.) BUT THEY ARE MY OTP. They're always gonna be fine. (Please disregard the sad fact that Kate's head is weirdly shaped and bigger than Tristan's, please and thank you.)

10.) Birthdays were on my mind this month. So I had Kate turn 20, and the boys made her a cake. It was probably Tyler's idea and it's likely he also baked it. Max likes to belt the birthday song, even though he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, and Tristan professes that he's only there for the cake. (But he totally got Kate some awesome present.)

friendly reminder that one of the boys is gonna die....

I've been really wanting to just have a night where I sing for people. Nothing special. A microphone would be nice. But I want to sing for people again. *Eyeballs singing class at the college*

So yeah, that's what I've been drawing these last couple weeks.

I'm sure one of these day I'm gonna get myself together and be the blogger I used to be!

Until then, please be patient with me, keep me in your prayers, and I will post a life update soon. I'm aiming for sometime this week. :)

Question Time!
Best Tristan and Gang?
Favorite overall?
Best fanart?
Have you seen Spiderman yet? Thoughts?

I love you all, and I'll talk you really soon.
God bless

Picture Saturday-- Ahem.

Picture Saturday has not reared it's ugly head in a good.... what, three weeks?

I am ashamed.

But I had to go to a wedding, and then it was Mother's Day week, and I was really very busy.

Anyway, there is rather a lot of Phantom stuff again.

My friend asked me how our musical high was going.

I told her it's still going strong.

The minion represents me, and the banana represents the
Phantom of the Opera, and other musicals I'm obsessed with.

We listened to POTO again last night, and I've lost count of how many times that is in a month.....

Yeah, when we decide to obsess, we obsess.

I really want to listen to the Scarlet Pimpernel musical again, but that is only at the college library, and for some reason the college library freaks me out. ME! I love libraries! But the college one has this atmosphere like, "IF YOU MAKE A NOISE WE WILL DEMOLISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. DON'T BLINK, DON'T EVEN BLINK. BLINK AND YOU'RE DEAD." and as such I still haven't worked up the courage to go in and find the stupid CD.

(Speaking of musicals, I might need to do a post comparing and contrasting the original Newsies movie and the Newsies Broadway musical, because.... because reasons.)

RIGHT! So, shall we get this thing going?

1.) Here, we have the colored versions of the Steampunk girls I drew last time.

2.) A couple of my sisters informed me that this one is the Steampunk version of Jack, and after some dubious eyeballing of this picture, I have come to agree. So here, Steampunk Jack for you.

3.) The lady inventor, because she's funny and I like her, and I think I've named her Veronica.

4.) This one is basically me when I get up in the morning. Expression and all.

Yes, I turn into Gollum, got a problem with that?

5.) Amy told me that if I want to illustrate kids books, I should maybe start drawing kids. She had a point, so I drew horribly disproportionate children, and they're adorable.

6.) I did not really like how disproportionate they were, so sad-little-crying-girl came next.  ( Again, I don't know why there are weird splotches, but oh well.)

7.) Random dancing girl with fabulous hair.

8.) DAREDEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Because blind Catholic superheroes are the BEST. OHMYGOODNESS.

No, I didn't mess up when I wrote 'purpose' in pen, why would you think that?

9.) Bad, bad sketches. I don't know why I only had blue and pink colored pencils with me, but the girl looks slightly maniacal, and something went horribly wrong with that ballerina.

10.) Sometimes I can't draw.

11.) And then we have another gigantic batch of Phantom fanart because I have no life. (But I do love my musicals.)

I tried a new angle for Think of Me, and I firmly believe that it will look less weird when I color it in.

11.) One of the times I listened to it, I realized that Christine's last word in the musical is 'morning', and the Phantom's last word is 'night.' And for some reason that contrast made me really sad. So....

12.) This one I'm working on right now. When it's done the Erik and Raoul will be standing on stairs, and it will be colored and I plan on making it fabulous....

If you can tell me the lyrics to this part, I will give you cyber brownies.

13. And finally.... (you guys are probably SO happy...) We have that part where he leads her through the mirror and they do that song with the note that I can't hit.*

*cries all the tears*

And with that, I think I'm going to bid you all a very fond farewell, try to maybe catch up on Supernatural so I can watch the really painful finale when it airs, and pray that the sun comes out, because it's been gray for over a week now, and I'd really like some bright days now, please and thank you.

Which picture is your favorite?
Who do you ship Christine with? (Bearing in mind that I'm planning on doing a post defending my ship sometime soon.)
Do you listen to musicals?
Do you like Steampunk?

I love you all!

Treskie out.

And this is how we cook pizza

This has been a while in the making.

I am sorry.*

Things got super busy, and then editing had issues, and then I got lazy, and then I sort of, might have been putting it off.

*not really sorry.

I mentioned a few posts back that Amy and I had filmed a pizza vlog, because apparently we talk about food so much on our blogs that it makes our minions slaves followers hungry, and a couple of you actually requested the recipe for our pizza. (It was Hannah's idea to film it, but whatever.)

SO if you want to make delicious pizza the DeLallo way, here is our recipe for it. (And trust me, it's fabulous, we are pizza snobs.)

However since this is our first cooking vlog and we kind of suck at it, here's the recipe written down in case you have no idea what we're talking about.

Dough:

1c warm to hot water
1 package yeast
1 glug (about two tablespoons) oil
3 c (give or take) unbleached white flour

In a medium to large bowl, mix water, yeast and oil. Add, little by little, 2 1/2 c flour, and knead together. Move the dough to a floured surface and knead in the remaining 1/2 flour. Your dough should be soft and not overmixed. A good way to test, is to stick your finger in and if it comes out clean or mostly clean, your dough is probably ready.

Rub it down with oil (so it doesn't crack) and put it back in the bowl, covered. Set aside to rise for about an hour, your dough should double it's size.

Makes 1 pizza.

Sauce:

1 medium sized can (16oz) unseasoned tomato sauce
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1/4 medium onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, diced.
2 tbsp oregano
2 tbsp thyme
1 tbsp basil or sweet basil
Pinch of salt
Pepper to taste.

Dice the onion and garlic and put them in a sauce pan with the oil. Saute over medium heat until the garlic is browning and the onion is sort of transparent and soft. Add the sauce and stir. Mix in the spices, and let them cook into the sauce for about ten minutes. Then turn the sauce down to about med-low or low and let it cook down for about an hour. (This makes the sauce super flavorful and yummy. :)

Good for one pizza.

The Pizza:

Preheat oven to 375*f.

The dough
The Sauce
Whichever toppings you're going to use (Optional, you don't need toppings, but whatever)
1 c cheese (Mozzarella is best) Or as much as you want, the more the merrier, I say.

Roll out the dough onto an oiled pizza tray. Spread the sauce fabulously over the top, and add toppings if you have them. Sprinkle the cheese and stick it in the oven for 12- 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown on the bottom.

And then all you need to do is partake of delicious goodness.

Just FYI, we are at a pretty high altitude, so the timing and cooking temperature might be a little off if you're closer to sea level. 'Pologies. :)

IF YOU FEEL BRAVE, YOU COULD DO A VIDEO RESPONSE.

But seriously, try it out and let me know what it goes!

Cheers!

"You're crazy! I like that."

Today's song was hard.

Because I have to pick a song that makes me happy....

And um... A lot of the songs that make me happy tend to make me sad at the same time, like a bittersweet sort of happy.

Like

And then:

But I know I must choose one.

So I'm going to do Hunter Hayes' I Want Crazy. Seriously, listen to it. (The actual song doesn't start until about forty-five seconds in.)

I don't know, something about that song is just awesome.

"But I don't want 'good', and I don't want 'good enough'.
I want 'can't sleep, can't breathe without you' love.
Front porch, and one more kiss
It doesn't make sense to anybody else.
Who cares if you're all I think about?
I've searched the world and I know now,
It ain't right if you ain't lost your mind.
Yeah, I don't want easy, I want crazy
Are you with me baby?
Let's be crazy

I was so happy to finally find a song that expressed the way I felt about love. It's not something that can be labeled, really. It's wild, and unpredictable, and crazy. And it makes me happy.

I really tend to like country music anyway, and Hunter Hayes is one of my favorite country singers. His music is super awesome, and he comes up with some great lyrics.

But, if that song doesn't make you go all....

Then here's the only acceptable version of The Weight, which also makes me happy. (Amy knows this, and goes around singing, "Put the loooaad.... right on meeee." in order to make me blush. The little stinker.)

Oh, and hiiiiii, new followers! You're awesome! Hello!

Cheers, people!
