*Angry Treskie Noises*

It's been ages!

You guys are so Treskie deprived! (I know, such a loss.)

Here's the thing:

I am in a drawing funk.

And it's the worst kind of drawing funk, because I want to draw. I want to draw all the things. I want to draw more Phantom fanart, because, believe it or not, I'm still in love with that musical. I want to draw fanart for books I've been reading. I want to finish that Supernatural fanart that I promised Cait forever ago. I want to draw Hannah's character. I want to illustrated songs! (Particularly Right Field and And Then He Kissed Me.) I want to draw and draw and draw!

And I can't.

Because for some reason, my brain and my hand aren't speaking to each other. (I think they had a fight or something.) And they aren't communicating. My brain goes, "Do this!" and my hand shrieks "NEVAH!" and it's all very irritating.

.... And by irritating I mean infuriating.

I'm sure anyone who does any form of art can understand this. Writers, artists, poets... whatever. There are just times when, even when you have the best of intentions, the art does not come.

I plan to watch this very soon.

I have tried to do art.

And after a good long while of sadness and wasted paper,* I resort to tears** and netflix.

*expensive wasted paper.
**not really.

In the meantime, since drawing is apparently not going to happen, I've been doing other stuff.*

*new stuff, old stuff, shiny stuff.

Mostly this other stuff is reading.

A.) THE NEW PENDERWICKS BOOK!!! Aaaah! It's so good! Definitely one of my favorites in the series. But I will admit, it has been a long time since I cried that hard over a book. So many tears. (And I'm not joking there, I was a wet mess.)

Ugh, just read the whole series.

THIS IS ANOTHER CAUSE FOR ANGRY TRESKIE NOISES! I want to fanart about the Penderwicks, and helloooo, drawing funk.

B.) I re-read the first Bartimaeus book, because Jonathan Stroud is basically an awesome author. I guffawed again, because Bartimaeus is a dork.

I want to draw fanart for that too. *Angry Treskie noises*

C.) Kat found a new series by the aforementioned Jonathan Stroud. How he wrote it without my knowledge is beyond me, but I am reading book one with voracious vigor, and I'm loving every moment of it. It's about Ghost Hunters and I feel creeped out sometimes, and it's delicious. (No, Cait, it's not a Supernatural rip-off, cool your jets.)

*Angry Treskie noises commence with angst, because the fanart that could be is not coming*

I lost my old kneaded eraser, which meant I had to open the new one that I've had since Christmas. AND THIS IS HOW WEIRD I AM. I COULDN'T USE IT. See, kneaded erasers are supposed to be squished and yanked and... well kneaded. They're like clay. You need to manipulate them, and work them in, so they erase beautifully. But they come in such perfect little squares that I couldn't make myself ruin the beauty of this symmetry. I posted on tumblr about it.

Yep. It took me three days to actually use it, and in the end, I had to get my friend to do the initial kneading of it, because I couldn't make myself. I AM A DORK.

We have started re-watching Monk. Monk is a dork.

I am working on a Defense of Raoul post. I was planning to decorate it with drawings. That won't happen. (See above for reasons.)

We've been listening to a lot of oldies at work, and it's really put me in an oldies mood, and I've listened to this song a ridiculous amount. (And this clip is hilarious.)

It's cute!

Well, he walked up to me
And he asked me if I wanted to dance
He looked kinda nice
And so I said, "I might take a chance"
When he danced, he held me tight
And when he walked me home that night
All the stars were shinin' bright
And then he kissed me

I took this picture today and it made me really happy.

I have to sing two solos for my voice class final on Tuesday!!! If all goes well, and I remember the camera, I might post videos of them later..... But until then, pray that my cold/allergies go away and I can actually sing.

Because I'm not sure if I have a cold or really bad allergies. All I know is that the air is pretty much green with pollen and I have a weird voice thing going on at the moment.

It's finally warm enough to go swimming, which we did. I'm very proud of being a mountain lake girl, I can swim in coooold water and it's not that big of a deal. Well let me tell you. IT WAS A COLD FIRST SWIM, OKAY?? FREEZING. My wrists were so numb my hands wouldn't stand up. Aaah good times.

We rewatched the Princess Bride and quoted the whole movie along with the actors.

We listened to this really awesome sermon.

I broke my favorite sandals.

I'm going now.

Baii.*

*I apologize for any typos in this post. I'm tired and I don't feel like proofing it.

Picture Saturday-- Ahem.

Picture Saturday has not reared it's ugly head in a good.... what, three weeks?

I am ashamed.

But I had to go to a wedding, and then it was Mother's Day week, and I was really very busy.

Anyway, there is rather a lot of Phantom stuff again.

My friend asked me how our musical high was going.

I told her it's still going strong.

The minion represents me, and the banana represents the
Phantom of the Opera, and other musicals I'm obsessed with.

We listened to POTO again last night, and I've lost count of how many times that is in a month.....

Yeah, when we decide to obsess, we obsess.

I really want to listen to the Scarlet Pimpernel musical again, but that is only at the college library, and for some reason the college library freaks me out. ME! I love libraries! But the college one has this atmosphere like, "IF YOU MAKE A NOISE WE WILL DEMOLISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. DON'T BLINK, DON'T EVEN BLINK. BLINK AND YOU'RE DEAD." and as such I still haven't worked up the courage to go in and find the stupid CD.

(Speaking of musicals, I might need to do a post comparing and contrasting the original Newsies movie and the Newsies Broadway musical, because.... because reasons.)

RIGHT! So, shall we get this thing going?

1.) Here, we have the colored versions of the Steampunk girls I drew last time.

2.) A couple of my sisters informed me that this one is the Steampunk version of Jack, and after some dubious eyeballing of this picture, I have come to agree. So here, Steampunk Jack for you.

3.) The lady inventor, because she's funny and I like her, and I think I've named her Veronica.

4.) This one is basically me when I get up in the morning. Expression and all.

Yes, I turn into Gollum, got a problem with that?

5.) Amy told me that if I want to illustrate kids books, I should maybe start drawing kids. She had a point, so I drew horribly disproportionate children, and they're adorable.

6.) I did not really like how disproportionate they were, so sad-little-crying-girl came next.  ( Again, I don't know why there are weird splotches, but oh well.)

7.) Random dancing girl with fabulous hair.

8.) DAREDEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Because blind Catholic superheroes are the BEST. OHMYGOODNESS.

No, I didn't mess up when I wrote 'purpose' in pen, why would you think that?

9.) Bad, bad sketches. I don't know why I only had blue and pink colored pencils with me, but the girl looks slightly maniacal, and something went horribly wrong with that ballerina.

10.) Sometimes I can't draw.

11.) And then we have another gigantic batch of Phantom fanart because I have no life. (But I do love my musicals.)

I tried a new angle for Think of Me, and I firmly believe that it will look less weird when I color it in.

11.) One of the times I listened to it, I realized that Christine's last word in the musical is 'morning', and the Phantom's last word is 'night.' And for some reason that contrast made me really sad. So....

12.) This one I'm working on right now. When it's done the Erik and Raoul will be standing on stairs, and it will be colored and I plan on making it fabulous....

If you can tell me the lyrics to this part, I will give you cyber brownies.

13. And finally.... (you guys are probably SO happy...) We have that part where he leads her through the mirror and they do that song with the note that I can't hit.*

*cries all the tears*

And with that, I think I'm going to bid you all a very fond farewell, try to maybe catch up on Supernatural so I can watch the really painful finale when it airs, and pray that the sun comes out, because it's been gray for over a week now, and I'd really like some bright days now, please and thank you.

Which picture is your favorite?
Who do you ship Christine with? (Bearing in mind that I'm planning on doing a post defending my ship sometime soon.)
Do you listen to musicals?
Do you like Steampunk?

I love you all!

Treskie out.

PIcture Saturday -- In which I listen to musicals.

A lot.

Like, we have listened or watched a musical almost every single day for the past two weeks.

Sometimes we just re-listened to Phantom of the Opera, and Jekyll and Hyde. (I think in the last week, we've listened to PoTO like five times, and it's been awesome.) Other times, it was Jane Eyre or Oklahoma, or Pirates of Penzance, and HMS Pinafore.

Tonight we listened to Tale of Two Cities. (James Barbour as Sidney Carton makes me feel things.)

Tomorrow we're going to do The Secret Garden.

We might possibly listen to Phantom again after that.

We really love musicals.

So this week's Picture Saturday is mostly fanart for Phantom. Because I am a Phangirl. (I can't remember a time when I haven't known the musical, so I think it's the best one. I love the music, I love the story, I love the characters. It's the bomb diggety.)

1.) So, Christine. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again is one of my all time favorite Broadway songs. Such the best.

2.) Christine is adorable.

I don't know why there are weird splotches. Is weird.

3.) PHANTOM OF THE OPERA LYRICS ARE THE COOLEST, GUYS. The coolest.

4.) My sister's brother was being a brat.... but he gave me this really cool idea.

Princess Assassins.

5.) NINJAAAAAAAAAAA TRAINING. With tiaras and everything. Skillz.

5.) Musicals are a big thing in my life right now. Will and Ada Annie from Oklahoma.

6.) Hannah requested more Steampunk stuff. So I obliged. She further requested jet packs.

I'm very obliging.

I meant to color these in, but I did not, so next week, you'll get the color versions of them.

7.) Jetpaaaaaaaaaacks.

8.) BECAUSE JOSH GROBAN SANG ALL I ASK OF YOU, AND I MELTED. If he ever played Raoul on stage, I might actually flip out.

9.) There aren't a lot of women inventors in Steampunk so this lady is coming up with an Iron Man like hand.

10.) Yeah, I'm not obsessed with the PoTO at all...

10.) Not.
At.
All.

I really love Raoul and Christine's relationship, they're sweet. And I love how he's the exact opposite of the Phantom, and how protective he is of Christine, it's adorable. *sigh*

I think I work best using mixed media. Copics and colored pencils work really well together, and I'm just having a lot of fun combining colors. *Happiness is real.*

So yes, that's it this week...

I see I'm almost to 100 followers. SQUEEEEEE! THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING ME!!! It makes me so happy when you do that. Hello.

When I get to 100 I would like to do a giveaway, but I'm not sure what to give... away. Would you guys be interested if for the prize you could ask for any picture and I'd do it for you? Or you could request a print of one I've done.... Or something like that.

Spread the word though, 100 followers means giveaway!!

Also, I have a tumblr now. Because people's art seems to get noticed a lot on tumblr, and I want to get my art out there, so. Here is the linky: Mah tumblr. It's weird, and I'm not sure if I like it, but hey, if you have one, give me a follow!

Treskie out.

Picture Saturday - The lazy one

It was one of the best weeks, guys.

SO MANY AWESOME THINGS HAPPENED.

Buuut I'm not telling you what they are until I get pictures so I can illustrate the awesomeness of them.

Suffice to say, this week made me feel very lucky and very loved and yeah, it was great. Epic, even.

More on that in my next post.

Drawing wise, I was lazy this time. I didn't feel like doing anything in depth, I just wanted to sketch. Sketchy sketch. So I did, which means no color this week, but next week for shizzle, I will make beautiful good things.*

*I'm actually not conceited, I just like to pretend I am.

1.) So first we have the, I-don't-know-what-to-draw-I-guess-I'll-do-hugs.

2.) Then we have the how-does-the-human-face-work?

Not like that, I hope. What even.....?

3.) The Hmmm-hugs-are-fun-and-so-is-Steampunk

I don't know who they are or why he's sad, but it's a cute picture, and I love it.

4.) The Oh-yeah-Steampunk-is-really-fun-better-draw-a-girl.

5.) The epic Luka fail. (Luka from Dragon Slippers. He's nice.)

This picture is terrible and makes me want to cry a little.

6.) The Hey-this-Luka-doesn't-suck.

7.) And lastly, the really quick Celestia rough draft which I drew because I felt bad telling Chloe and Sammi that I hadn't drawn her yet. Yes, she is terrifying. No, the final draft will not look so bad.

Aaaand that's it this week, I'm afraid. I wasn't motivated to draw a giant 'fro on a character for Hannah, (though I will get to that, and make his 'fro ginormous, just you wait.)

Next week, I shall try to get Celestia finished and colored.... I'm really excited to draw the humanized version of Discord. Mwahahaha.

Tonight we're going to stay over with some friends and get them addicted to Prison Break, because everyone needs a little extra stress in their life. HA! It's going to be fabulous good time.

FYI, the Pizza Vlog will be up sometime next week, if I can get Bella to get her act together and finish editing it for us. (Love you, Bellaaaa.)

In the meantime, if you want a chance to win an early copy of Jack's Brothers in Arms book, go here to find out the rules. (Good book) If you don't feel the urge to try to win a copy, look at the fanart I did for it here and here and then rethink.

And yeah, good bye. I'm off to watch Kingsmen.

Cheers!

Baby, it's cold outside....

BUT NOT COLD ENOUGH TO SNOW, DARN IT ALL TO ANTARCTICA!

Freaking drought.

I mean really.  Like.... I remember having snow from September to June! And now? Now it's December 6th and we haven't had to shovel once.

(I'm not complaining about not shoveling. I hate shoveling. But no snow in December makes me sad.)

I want one of those giant snow storms that makes schools close and gives people five foot berms, and keeps you inside with coffee and fires and Christmas movies.

I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER GREEN CHRISTMAS, OKAY!?

Speaking of!!!

What's up, mein minions?

It's been over a week since I posted.

Freaking lack of WiFi.

We put up our Christmas tree!

No, it's not decorated yet. We tend to wait a little bit between setting it up and decorating, because..... I don't even know why. It's a lot of work to set up and decorate the tree, I guess.

What? No! I don't just put frost and stuff on my pictures to make them look good. Shhhhh.

The little girls were really excited and it was adorable.

I don't like getting my picture taken so I eyeballed Bella like a bird while she photographed me.

Bella, on the other hand, is a freaking diva.

And I can smile when I think about it.

CHRISTMAS!!

Like... it's not even three weeks away anymore. And I'm so freaking happy. I have fabulous pressies for people, and I'm more excited to give them to people than to open my own.

(I might not get any, I haven't exactly been saintly. I have anger management issues. I'm lazy. And I don't like to be nice to people.... FATHER CHRISTMAS IS GONNA LEAVE COAL IN MY STOCKING AND THAT IS SAD.)

Whatever. Ask anyone. I buy fabulous pressies.

It's my best friend's birthday today.
She's eighteen.
I hate that she's eighteen.
She's old.
I'm older.
We're adults.
I hate being an adult.
BUT SHE'S EIGHTEEN.

My little sisters did an ice skating performance tonight. It's their first. AND THEY LOOK SO CUTE IN THEIR LITTLE OUTFITS. Unnnng. Like. Pink and sparkly and shyyyy. And it's so cute.

I haven't felt like drawing lately. I've been busy... ish. Busy enough.

However, because of the recent viewing of ice skating I've been doing. I have ideas for new drawings. (Also a short story Hannah let me read was like... MIND BLOWN I NEED TO ILLUSTRATE.)

And lately I've been like, "CHRISTMAS CAAAAARDS. I NEED TO DRAW CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR  EVERYONE."  And then, because I'm me, I get overwhelmed, and then I procrastinate because I'm a moron. *high fives everyone who is a fellow procrastinator.*

I did, however, draw this. With lyrics to one of my favorite Christmas songs... like ever.

I played chess for the first time in like a year and a half.
I lost.
And then I won.
And then I lost again and threw a fit, because I'm a brat.

I like going to Staples. But I'm not telling you why.

I want to watch While You Were Sleeping again. It's like the cutest movie. (I've only seen it edited, though, so I'm not sure if it's dirty or not.) But seriously. It's freaking adorable. Watch it. NOW!

I also want to watch Silent Night. Because Silent Night is about Christmas and soldiers during WWII and I love the WWII time frame.

And One Magic Christmas which starts out happyish. And then gets really sad and then gets really happy and I love having my emotions toyed with by a movie made like thirty years ago. It's so worth it though.

Also, the Grinch cartoon, because.... nostalgic memories, OKAY.

My leg is asleep.

Freaking pins and needles.

I am excited to wrap presents and put them under the tree and guffaw at people trying to figure out what they are.

Have I mentioned I buy fabulous presents?

We listened to Josh Groban's "Believe" from Polar Express. Seriously one of the best Christmas songs ever.

I love Christmas songs.

I love this season.

I'm rambling.

I'm done.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, MEIN MINIONS.

Hopefully I'll be back before another week goes by.

Freaking lack of WiFi.

I need to draw and send out packages.

I love you all.

Cheers!!
