Picture Sunday-- July

So... I took a random two-week hiatus from blogging.

It wasn't planned. I just had a lot going on, and when Saturdays showed up, I realized, A.) I hadn't drawn at all. And B.) I would rather do ANYTHING but focus.

And that's my explanation, so yes, I'm sorry about that, and I think the lack of motivation might be ebbing. Which is good, because I have a couple of picture books I'm supposed to be illustrating for people and I HAVEN'T, because I've been too stressed out.

Other than that, life is looking more cheerful, this month is the month I plan to do things that involve adulting, motivating myself, and possibly starting a society6 or reddit shop.

Also I'm going to buy wine because I'm twenty-one now.

That's my plan, and hopefully I'll stick to it.

Buuut it's me, so it's quite likely that I will ignore the plan and stay in the same old rut as usual. C'est moi.

Whatever. Art, anyone?

1.) I kind of always come back to Phantom after trying other musicals. It's the best.

2.) Mostly, I just finished drawings from last week. *Sokka slap*

3.) What-ho, Christine Daae. Werk.

4.) Also this very attractive cowboy....

5.) Most of my art from last week looked like this, and that's why Picture Saturday was a no-show.

 6.) And also like this.

7.) Bella informed me that Christine is making a very Amy expression in this picture, and actually... she's right. Sorry, Amy.

8.) Proportions don't exist in this one, but the emotions are good, I think. (Basically Max is a flirt and Kate's having none of it.)

9.) Remember when I said Kate bakes when she's worried? A lot of the time, Tristan's the reason she's stressed out.

10.) Raoul is a precious cinnamon roll.

11.) We rewatched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and I freaking love the stupidity of that musical.

12.) If any of you haven't seen it, you guys should really check out Olan Rogers' animated short because it's gold, and in the space of like... 5 minutes, it gave me the giggles and then unexpected feelings.

13.) And yeah, I drew the Phantom, because whether he's a creeper or not, that bit at the end where Christine leaves is sad

So yeah. I think now I'm going to be back on schedule, which means blogging will be more steady again, and I have some exciting news to share when I get something finished.

Until then, I will leave you with this Hunter Hayes song, because I'm twenty-one now.

Question Time!
Favorite overall?
Favorite colored?
Best black and white?
Best Phantom fanart?
Have you seen Seven Brides for Seven Brothers?*

*Blue, pretty sure I already know your answer, lol

Go now! Go now and leave me!

Picture Saturday-- April

Saying goodbye to people that you don't get to see that often is really hard.

*Angry Treskie noises*

You guys want a life update post this week?

I'm actually back now, I'm not just popping in to say hai only to disappear for another three weeks. Wooo!

*Le sigh*

Let's get going on the first Picture Saturday since... eeeeee, the beginning of March? Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long.

Unfortunately there's not a lot to actually post, because most of last month was taken up with a super-secret art project I was working on for my brother's wedding. And since I only finished it about the same time I got back from Montana (like two days before the wedding), taking pictures of it totally didn't cross my mind, so I'll have to ask Joe for it back before I can show you guys what it was. I was very proud of it. Ehem.

Right, bragging's over now.

1.) Usually if I'm drawing, my mood comes out in my art. So angrily sketching faces results in... angry face sketches....

2.) Finished Agent Carter s2, and commenced the fanart because.... That finale...! (Yeah, I know, I really need to start using reference pictures when I fanart because the people don't really look like they're supposed to...)

3.) Not wild about his face because it doesn't look like him, but daaaaaang those shoulders....

4.) The super-uber quick one that I did while waiting for my private lesson...

5.) KAY I NEED TO COLOR THIS ONE BECAUSE REASONS.

6.) The I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing...

7.) Let your hair flow freeee!

8.) The one that I liked until I looked at it again and now I'm thinking her head is a little... misplaced.
Also, I really wish my sketchbook was a little bit smaller, because it's too big for the scanner and hence, I get funky dark splotches on my scans and it's really irritating.

9.) The art that turned out so well it doesn't even look like my art.

10.) The one that Tyler Ward noticed...WHICH WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT A LOT BETTER IF I'D HAD MORE TIME.

No, but seriously Tyler Ward saw it and it made my daaaaaaay.

11.) Here, have a really terrible pianist sketch... that I actually like and I don't know why.

12.) And finally, have the girl who emotes sadness, because I drew her this afternoon.

Alrighty, everyone, thanks for sticking around when I ditched you!

Question time!

Favorite overall?
Favorite black and white?
Have you seen s2 of Agent Carter?
Do you ever think your art is good, until you look at it again and decide, "Eeeh, no?"
Did you miss me?

Love ya!

Picture Sunday-- March

It was a good week.

Good things happened.*

I was elated, and happy, and embarrassed, and excited, and it was just a really good week.

*Fun things, silly things, thing that made go, "squeeeee."

I finally uploaded my solo to youtube, I think I did pretty okay considering I was still sick and my voice wasn't up to snuff, I'll put that link in at the bottom of this post, in case anyone wants to see it.*

*Is that weird, should I not do that?

I'm leaving to see my sister next Saturday.

I'm going to try to do that Picture Saturday post early, so I can schedule it to post while I travel,* because that's going to be the last Picture Saturday until sometime in April, when I get back, since Gina and Dan don't have a scanner, and I will not post bad quality pics, okay? Okay.

*Pray for me! I've never flown alone before!

Right well... this week, unfortunately, I didn't draw a whole lot of quality stuff, but whatever. I'm really proud of a few of them (one in particular), and I'm gonna post the not-so-stellar ones, because I'm in a sharing mood. lol.

1.) So we have the little girl sketch I did while I was listening to Amy's private lesson, because... I bring sketchbooks with me. (I'm getting the hang of little kid bodies, aw yiss.)

2.) The guitar doodle, because why the heck not?

3.) The little guy who will definitely have a girlfriend when he grows into his eyebrows.

4.) The one where I discovered gelly roll pens, and was like, "HIGHLIGHT ALL THE THINGS." (White gelly roll pens are life. Aw YISS.)

5.) The one I started of Tyler Ward, and intend to finish. Tyler Ward is awesome and you should follow him on youtube, because the guy is so talented, and so sincere.

6.) Max feeling very sad and forlorn because he did the Thing.

7.) The one where Tristan finds out about the Thing.

8.) The one I don't like.

9.) The first sketch of Stitch and Angel that my brother requested....

10.) Aaaaaaaaaaaand THE ONE THAT TURNED OUT SO WELL I FLIPPED OUT BECAUSE I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS RESULT, AND I LIKE IT. (Seriously, Gelly Roll pens are where it's AT.) I LOVE THIS PIC, OKAY? OKAY.

Yeah... I'm not proud of myself at all....

I dunno, guys, I'm weird tonight. I'm all jittery and wonky. It's really late, and freaking Daylight Savings Time started and I should really go to bed.

So I'm going to post my solo (because apparently it's all about ME tonight....), and I'm gonna call it quits.

Question Time!
Favorite overall drawing?
Favorite black and white?
Have you figured out what Max's Thing is yet?
What's your favorite Lilo and Stitch quote?

I love you all!

Picture Saturday -- Oh no it's starting again.

So the Phantom kick is back in full swing.

And I'm not even sorry.

You can blame Mary, because she commissioned Phantom paper dolls (!!) and I was forced to listen to the musical again.

For research purposes, you see....

Also, we're showing the 25th Anniversary to one of our friends on Monday, and it got me back in the mood.

These paper dolls are supposed to be based on the movie costumes and not on the musical costumes, and this makes it trickier for me, because I know the musical costumes really well, but the movie ones require much research. *Cue Treskie googling pictures, and watching POTO movie clips, and becoming even more set in her opinion that the movie could have been better...*

Anyhoo.

I'm not going to show you guys the paper dolls until they're done, and until Mary's seen them, so... that's why there aren't that many drawings this week.

1.) Here, have some ugly scribbles, because I sat down and my hand went, "NOPE!" (Though I have to admit, I think I captioned the kid at the bottom hilariously.)

2.) Here, have another kiss. I'M SORRY, I'M FEELING SAPPY, OKAY?

3.) Here, have the sketch of Raoul proposing to Christine, because I will ship them all the way to Gallifrey.

4.) Here, have the one I drew for Amy, because... because...

5.) Here, have the finished one from last week. (I can't decide if I should color it in or not, yea or nay?)

6.) Here, have one of Raoul, who has had just about enough of the Phantom's nonsense.

7.) Here, have the one that I'm mad about, because this one was supposed to be a rough draft, but her expressions turned out so well that I need it to not be just the rough draft, which means I have a set of pictures I really love on low quality paper, and I'm MAD.

8.) Here, have Raoul being sad and awesome, and ARGH, I JUST LOVE THAT CHARACTER SO MUCH, I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN.

9.) Here, have the Phantom doing the "No no, dark is good, dark is your friend, darkness makes Batman."

Here, have a gif of Zuko being fabulous.

Ugh, it has been a week, guys. I will fill you in probably sometime in the next few days, but yeah. It's been interesting.

And now I will pepper you with questions, because that's how I DO.

Did you groan when I said Phantom? (Because I'm aware that this obsession is bordering on worrisome.)
Favorite drawing this week?
Should I do more guitarists?
Do you know the Muffin Man?

Okay, I'm done now, Treskie out.
