Literary Dinner Party!

There has been a severe lack of unique  tags in the blogosphere. But when I saw this over at Cat's blog, I  actually  wanted  to do it! It's coolio! It's a tag in which you plan a dinner party.

But here's the awesome: The guests are all characters from your favorite books!

Isn't that so cool? I mean wow!  I wouldn't have thought of that. :)

Alrighty, here are the questions.

1.) One character who likes to cook.
Rosalind, from The Penderwicks. She's a sweetheart, and I think it would be good for her to get out.

2. One character who has money to fund the party.    I'm going to say..... HALE!!  Sure, maybe he's a bit of a thief.... and he did  bungle up a con job in Barcelona.... (even though everyone agreed that the distraction monkey seemed perfectly well trained at the time.....) But he's funny, and I like him.

If you don't know who he is, you go to the library right now, and check out Heist Society.

3. One character who might cause a scene.
Howl. Howl would definitely cause a scene. Either with his-- and I quote-- "dazzling smile", or his green slime... or he might turn himself into a two year old and go around lisping about his "terrible childhood."

4. One character who is funny/amusing.
Peaceable Drummond Sherwood from the Sherwood Ring. He's.... kind of an outlaw. He says things like, "How marvelous a thing, is the truth, properly manipulated!"
What can I say? I like an outlaw.

5. One character who is super social/popular.
Gabrielle, from Heist Society. She's pretty, blond, and extreeeemely social. She totters around in high heels and cons people. :) She grows on you.

6. One villain.
Julian Verrers, from The Masterful Monk. He's awful. He's.... malicious and hateful, he hates God and kills people!

7. One couple (doesn't have to be romantic).
James and Lark. They're adorable don't even really fall in love until the end of the book, and it's cute. They would bring a lot of banter to the table.

8. One hero/heroine.
Oh..... *Treskie mentally tries sort out all her heroes* Well.... Paul Gray, from Last Crescendo is awesome. Like brilliantly, wonderfully awesome.... I decided that when I get married, I wanted to name my son Paul, after reading that book.

9. One under-appreciated character.
Martitia Howland from They Loved to Laugh. (If you like Eight Cousins, you'll probably like this book. I personally liked it a little better, but... that's me.)

10. One character of your own choosing.
I'm going to go all fangirly here and say, either Percy Jackson, because he's friggen awesome, and I love him. And he really does get cooler in every book. Son of Neptune, anyone? Yeeeaah. (You know I love someone when I draw pictures of them....)

Or Christopher Chant in Conrad's Fate. He's.... hilarious.

I have a thing for hilarious people. I like them better than boring ones. Huh. weird.

Hehehe, This was fun. It was hard, but it was fun. And seriously, who wouldn't dream of having a dinner party with all their favorite book characters at it!?

If you do this tag, let me know! I want to check out your post.

Cheers and God bless!

~Treskie

  6. Okay, so I am stealing this tag and, CAN I COME?! You have some wonderful characters coming. Also, I am glad to see you like the Heist books. I've wanted to read them but wasn't sure if they were good or not. Now I shall have to, as I trust your reading likes. (Which is saying a lot. I don't trust a lot of readers...)

Be glad you didn't finish the sixth season of Psych before now. Now you don't have to go through a painful cliff hanger. It is almost as bad as BBC.

Okay, now I need to get ready to sneak into your party so I can meet...er, I've already met them. SPend time with Howl and Percy. And you, of course.

Also, thank you for your comment, and for your friendship. I think one of the best parts of starting my blog was getting the chance to meet you and your sisters. You are all amazing and I always love getting comments from you, they brighten my day.

    1. Ooooh you are so welcome to come, Jack! That would make the awesome more epic. :D The Heist books are really good.... like Ocean's Eleven with teenagers. They're hilarious, and Ally Carter writes good heroines. .... also, I'm so flattered that you trust my taste. That made me warm all over. lol

Kat and I watched a couple of Psychs last night. The one with the cult. I really liked Shawn in that episodes... OH also the one with William Shatner! Hehehe.

I wonder if Percy and Howl would like each other? They seem the sort to have a hard time getting along.

Well, your blog and comments brighten my day, Jack. We really love knowing you. :D ox

    2. If they have good heroines in them I will have to read them. I get so tired of the tough heroines which are in so many books lately. It is nice to find well written ones.

The cult episode was fun, and I LOVED the one with William Shantner! I almost shouted something about Captain Kirk being Jules' dad.

I wondered that too about Percy and Howl actually...they seem almost too sarcastic to get along.

I LOVE Jules. I think she is my favourite girl character of all time. Sweet and slightly clueless from time to time, very brave and not the kind to scream and stand by while her friends are getting hurt. And she runs in heels and has a cute style. She is just a wonderfully well written girl character.

As for the quote with Lassie and the stapler...I don't remember what season it is from actually. They kind of all...blurried together. *Smirk*

    3. They are good heroines, yes. Perhaps a wee teenager-y but good girls.

Hahaha, the William Shatner episode, I was like, "YES! KIRK! Waiiiiiiit. Kirk's a conman?! He must stop that." lol.

Jules is awesome. She kind of reminds me of how my family members would be if we were cops. lol.

Hehehehehehehehe. Well.... I can see how the seasons would all blur together. I should stop being lazy and just look it up. hehehe. :)

  7. I hope Howl doesn't turn green at your party and make slime go everywhere. It might not be a nice to have a slimy, green party.

Normal is boring. I tried it once, for an hour, and I fell asleep.

Goody! You think my background is Doctor Who ish too! I was thinking that took.

I told Jack about Malfox, she said we will get it after we finish Tam's and if the library has it there somewhere. I am excited because if you like it then I think it will be good.

    1. Thanks, John. Me neither. If he does, I'll just call up Sophie and have her make him stop. :D

      Normal is overrated.

Yes! I see your background and go... WEEEEooooooo!

Marlfox was defo one of my favorites. It ranked up there with Mariel of Redwall and the Long Patrol. :D
