Once Upon a Time

Let me tell you a secret: Well it's not actually a secret, but it sounds cool to say that.

We went to Disneyland.

And by "we", I mean my whole family, two good friends, Joe's fiance, and her mom. That's no small crowd.

And it was fun.

And since we took a lot of pictures, I'm mostly gonna post those and not add too many comments. (You know, aside from the occasional pithy remark, because let's be honest, y'all like those.)

Le Roadtrip cause we had had to get there....

Day One.

On the way into the park, day one!

We went way too high on the ferris wheel... (Because I'm not so good with... okay, I hate heights....BUT I WAS BRAVE, and I went on it, and I was scared, but it was fun.)

I was regretting the decision the whole time, fyi.

Tower of Terror in the right picture. YASS.

We waited in line for years, because the Cars ride broke down, but we had fun doing it so HA!

Look at this parade. LOOK AT IT.

It freaking rained
And did horrible things to my bangs.
No, but like, my bangs did not cooperate for the rest of the trip.
Sorrows.

And then it got cold, so Chloe and Sam ended up sharing Joe's jacket, and it was adorable. But I couldn't get very good pictures, so I had to play with this one.

Day two.

We all wore matching t-shirts, because that's how DeLallos do. They were kinda fun, because they had the Disney castle emblazoned on the front, and then on the back: the names and birthday's of everyone in the group. (Reason #333 why my brother is cooler than your brother.)

Le pixelated face is Jack....

Sammi flew out to meet us there that morning, and because it's Sammi, things got sillier. lol.

Iiiin the tiki-tiki-tiki-tiki tiki room....

Day three

Chloe and Sammi dressed as Belle and Rapunzel, and I got to do their hair, because... reasons.

There was this art shop....and I about died. IT WAS SO INCREDIBLE IN THERE. Ugh. People were like, "Treskie, we gotta go."
Me: But art.
Them: We have other plans, remember?
Me: But... art.
Them: We have to meet up with the family.
Me: Can we come back?

Not gonna lie, I got a little emotional in that place, it was amazing.

Mahri legit brought an IQ test with her.

He wanted that balloon since day one. He was so excited. lol.

People say Disneyland is magical.

I don't think it's magical so much as reminiscent. It feels like you're back in the 50's when you're there. It's a special place, it's full of craziness and wonderful things, and it's like wandering through a maze of memories of Walt Disney, and I think it's awesome.

Sorry if this post went on too long, but once I got started, I couldn't really eliminate that many pictures.

God bless! And I'll be back to blogging regularly next week!

Also! Big thanks to all of you lovelies who prayed that I didn't need to go to Jury Duty. It worked, and I'm free!

Kay cheers. Gnight.

  1. Yay, PICTURES OF THE TRIP! I really enjoyed this post, Treskie, and seeing how much fun everyone had.

Also, I'm laughing because I saw the title of your post in my dashboard and thought, "Oooh, pictures of the trip... I wonder if I'll get to see what Jack actually looks like?" And then scrolling through the pictures and hers is the only face pixelated- I'm very amused and laughing pretty hard.

So glad you didn't have to do jury duty!

Hahaha, I know. She wants to keep her face secret, so I went through and pixilated them for her. Why so funny though??? lol.

      ME FREAKING TOO. *dances*

    2. I don't lie. :P
Girls are always over-sensitive about how they look, and are often convinced that they look ridiculous, but in reality, they usually look just fine. How do I know this? I'm a girl. Having four sisters helps too. :)

    3. lol suuuuure.
Haha, I know. I think it's because we have a mental image of how we *want* stuff to look, and we know how it normally looks, and when it doesn't look that way, it's TRAGEDY. Aw you have 4 sisters?? cool!

  6. Haha, what an awesome trip! Yay! Unlike us, you took a lot of pictures!

Yay I'm glad someone else (unrelated of course) feels the same way about that art shop! XD

Ugh, it rained?! That stinks. Sorry about your bangs. I know the struggle...

Oh, and you're really good at hair! :D

    1. It was awesome! (Well this is sort of a compilation of several people's pictures.

THAT ART SHOP WAS SOOO AWESOME I BOUGHT THE DISNEY SKETCHBOOK AND AM DELIGHTED WITH IT.

It was actually kinda fun playing in the rain, but yeah... the bangs are annoying. (Curly hair problems? lol.)

      Wow, thank you!

    2. Ohh, yeah that makes sense haha.

      You did?! Awesome! XD

Haha, I also went last December with a group from church and we got so soaked. It was fun for a little while but then it got windy and it was pouring so we had to leave early. (Yes I have curly hair problems. And I also have curly bangs like you do. lol.)

      You're welcome! :D

    3. It's such a cool sketch book..... *heart eyes*

Haha oh.... I dunno, I kept stepping in puddles with my left foot. ONLY the left foot, so I was getting pretty cranky with that. Like, *setp, squish, step, squish*... But Aw yiss! Right? Curly bangs are so annoying!

  7. Your posts are always crazy fun. :)

I've never been that interested in visiting Disneyland, but now that I've heard that "It feels like you're back in the 50's when you're there..." I must go!!!

And that art room does look SPLENDID!

    1. Awww thanks. I try to make them fun because boring post irritate me lol.

Yeah... I wasn't either, like I never felt it was that big a deal, but it does have that FEEL and it's cool! (More in Disneyland and not so much in California Adventure)

So, so splendid, I can't even describe it. XD

  8. That art room....I want to explore it!

  9. I cannot stop freaking out about this post. AAAAAHHHHHHHH DISNEYLAND. Went there a few years ago. I was 20 at the time and I was a little concerned, like, c'mon, Disneyland? Won't it be way too campy for a big kid like me, even though when people ask me what my favorite movies are I start listing off 2D classic Disney movies like 101 Dalmations, Peter Pan, and Robin Hood. BUT IT WAS AMAZING AHHHH. I loved it and I can't wait to go back! Thank you thank you thank you for posting pictures! It made all the memories come flooding back. THE DRAWING ROOM. My siblings all bought pieces of art from there. I loves that place. We spent hours of our last day there. EEEEEEEEE THE TIKI ROOM XDDDDDD. We just about died laughing in that place. We never would've gone if an older friend of ours who had been to Disneyland before told us to go in there. Ahhhhh you saw Cruella! And Tigger! Okay okay now I'm really tempted to do a Disneyland post of my own, though I went several years ago. Thanks for posting lengthily! Literally called my family over and showed them your pics. I LOVE THAT PLACE IT'S LIKE WALKING THROUGH YOUR CHILDHOOD. Okay okay. I'm done. ♡♡♡

    1. AWWWWWWWWWWW YAY.

Phssssh, never too old for Disneyland. (At least, that is my opinion.) Aw yiss, those are some of my favorite 2D animated ones, like... Roger in 101 Dalmations was SO AWESOME, with his Bertie Wooster face and his corny song choices. And Robin Hood was so awesome, I wanted to be a fox.
hahaha, you're welcome! (I love it when seeing pictures is like a flood of memories, sometimes it brings back stuff you'd completely forgotten about.)
THE DRAWING ROOM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH. I almost got an art, but it's pricy, so I got the Disney Sketchbook instead....
THE TIKI ROOM WAS SO BAD THOUGH BECAUSE ALL OF US WHO WENT IN HAD IT STUCK IN OUR HEADS, AND THEN JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU'RE DONE WITH IT, *SOMEONE* STARTS SINGING IT AND IT'S LIKE, NOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Cruella was excellent. XD You should! I'd love to see pictures!(haha, you showed your family my family? Okay, cool. XD)
IT REALLY IS, LIKE WOW. OOOH LIKE EXPLORING AURORA'S CASTLE??? YASSSSS!

  10. Yay for your Disneyland trip! (And shame on me for commenting so late. :-) ) I like the picture of three of y'all in the car, because it reminds me of my family trips--my siblings have taken to calling our SUV the "sardine can" prior to a road trip because we and our luggage are so squashed into the vehicle that it wouldn't surprise me if the car and its contents exploded in all directions, cartoon-style, after being parked. :-)

ACK THE MARVEL T-SHIRTS! My sister has a Captain America shirt just like that!

Love the matching T-shirts idea--though my first thought was "Oh, they can find lost siblings more easily that way." #bigsisterprobs :-)

Is that an American Girl book in the last of the Day 2 pictures? Takes me back to my childhood...

    Love the balloon shot!

Wow, the art shop...I would have wanted to stick around as well.

Whoever plays Cruella DeVille did a good job!

PRAISE GOD you didn't have to go to jury duty! I'm glad you were spared that.

It's been so fun reading about your Disneyland vacation; thanks for sharing these pictures!

    1. Hahaha riiiiiight!? (Nah, you commented, so you're gooood.) Lol! We ended up taking three cars for the trip, because with 16 people plus luggage we needed more room than just our average two cars. (But yeah, why can't we ever go anywhere without so much luggage? Gersh.)

WE DIDN'T REALLY PLAN TO WEAR THE MARVEL TSHIRTS ALL AT ONCE. WE JUST DID. (She loves that CA Tee...)

Yeah, but people started to notice us, like one time we were going to get in line, and someone behind us was like, "WHY ARE WE ALWAYS BEHIND THOSE PEOPLE THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM." and then it got awkward lol.

Eeeehm.... *scrolls up* Yes, yes it is. She's been on a spree. lol.

Yeah, the guy was like, "Everyone pretend like you're flying off holding balloons!" and we were like... uuuugh. Kay?

      Because AAAAAAAAAAART.

She was excellent and made the little girls nervous because she wanted their little dog for a handbag. lol.

GOD IS SO GOOD. Me too. *le sigh*

Aw good, I'm glad you enjoyed it. XD

  11. HAIIII!!!! I'm commenting, finally!

Lol, YES! Pithy remarks are a must!

MARVEL T-shirts!!!! And Doctor Who! I love how awesomely nerdy your family is!!! Did all of your family go, or are there other siblings?

Oooh yeah, me and heights don't get along too well either, but it depends on how high a ride is...I've been on a few where I'm like "WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS?!?! GETMEOFFNOW!!!!" I really have to concentrate on NOT getting queasy with those kind :P

Awww, your brother and his fiance look so cute together :)

*SCREAMING* The TANGLED TOWER float!!!!! IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!! HER HAIR!!! And it has all three of my favorite Disney Princesses on it! AHHHHHH!

Your bangs don't look horrible, Treskie :P I get it though. Rain and humidity do strange things to my hair sometimes and I don't think it looks very good, but others say it looks fine, so either they are lying or it's just me XD

Chloe and Sam are ADORABLE!!! I loved your drawing of them sharing the jacket btw, SO FREAKIN' CUTE!

I love the matching t-shirts! And the names and birthdays on the back! Your brother IS awesome. So you were born July 2nd, 1995? We're almost exactly 6 months apart! Mine is January 6th, 1995.

Is that an American Girl Samantha book? Samantha was/is my absolute favorite!!!! I was lucky enough to get the doll (I saved up for her, but Mom surprised me by paying for her instead.)

Chloe and Sam made such cute princesses! You did an AWESOME job on their hair! Like, wow.

THE ART SHOP! It looks incredible! It would be easy to spend all day in there, I'm sure!

Oooh, pretty face paint! I would totally get that done, if they allow adults to get their face painted...

Okay, what are Amy and Sammi cracking up about in the trio of pictures??? It looks hilarious!

OH OH OH, IRON MAN SUITS!!!!

Lol, your bro and the balloon!!!

That's so cool that it feels like you're back in the 50's! I wonder how similar the Florida location is to the California Disneyland...Never been to either, but I have been to Florida and passed the Disneyland sign.

Long posts are awesome in my opinion!

You're welcome! Soooo glad you didn't have to go to Jury Duty!

Thanks for sharing your trip and all the pics!

    1. Hahahah oh yes.

RIGHT? THEY'RE THE BAAAAST. (Yes, best is more fun to say as 'bast')

ALL HAIL THE FAMILY OF GEEKS lol! Yeah, we... we're geeky haha. (No, most of us went, but my two older sisters couldn't make it because they're married and live like 6 states away.)

Haha, heights don't make me queasy so much as.... I get vivid visions of me falling to my death and it's just weird. like, "AND THE FERRIS WHEEL SOMEHOW FELL OVER AND SHE DROP 300 FEET ONTO THE CEMENT AND IT WAS HORRIBLE"

I love them so much lol.

*SCREAMS BACK* RIGHT? WASN'T IT AWESOME? HER BRAID WAS SO LONG, I WAS LIKE, 'FINALLY SOME ACCURACY!"

I tend to think that the bangs actually do look fine, but because we know how they're *supposed* to lay, and they're not laying that way, our whole perception of them is just, "nooooooooooo so bad." lol.

Mah li'l Chloe and Sam are the cutest ever, like seriously. *ugh* (Thank you, btw haha)

Hahaha, wow, how did you even find my name? *scrolls up* Oh, I took a great picture of that shirt lol. XD XD. Your birthday is on Epiphany, that's awesome!!!!!

I think it is! lol, I always like Kit and Josephina, and Addy. (Kat found an Addy doll at a second hand store for $25, and got it for me. She's in excellent condition, it's insane.)

With their cute little dresses, asdfla;sjdfladskjfa. (haha, thank you, I get a lot of practice.)

Oh, I could have DEFINITELY stayed their all day, especially since they have people in their who just get to sit and draw, and I would totally watch them draw, because SKILLZ.

I don't think they did adults, which is bizarre, but whatever.

I DON'T REMEMBER, BUT THAT SET OF PICTURES CRACKS ME UP EVERY TIME, IT'S HILARIOUS.

(We met Thor in the same place as the iron man suits and it was awesome.)

      lol He's so cute.

I think the Disneyland in Florida is pretty much the same as the on in California, but I hear it's on more land, so it takes forever to get places. Jess says you do nothing but walk the whole time because all the rides are so far apart. )

      Well thanks. :)

      ME TOO OH MY GOSH.

      Welcommmmme.
