*Angry Treskie noises*
You guys want a life update post this week?
I'm actually back now, I'm not just popping in to say hai only to disappear for another three weeks. Wooo!
*Le sigh*
Let's get going on the first Picture Saturday since... eeeeee, the beginning of March? Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long.
Unfortunately there's not a lot to actually post, because most of last month was taken up with a super-secret art project I was working on for my brother's wedding. And since I only finished it about the same time I got back from Montana (like two days before the wedding), taking pictures of it totally didn't cross my mind, so I'll have to ask Joe for it back before I can show you guys what it was. I was very proud of it. Ehem.
Right, bragging's over now.
1.) Usually if I'm drawing, my mood comes out in my art. So angrily sketching faces results in... angry face sketches....
2.) Finished Agent Carter s2, and commenced the fanart because.... That finale...! (Yeah, I know, I really need to start using reference pictures when I fanart because the people don't really look like they're supposed to...)
3.) Not wild about his face because it doesn't look like him, but daaaaaang those shoulders....
4.) The super-uber quick one that I did while waiting for my private lesson...
5.) KAY I NEED TO COLOR THIS ONE BECAUSE REASONS.
6.) The I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing...
7.) Let your hair flow freeee!
8.) The one that I liked until I looked at it again and now I'm thinking her head is a little... misplaced.
Also, I really wish my sketchbook was a little bit smaller, because it's too big for the scanner and hence, I get funky dark splotches on my scans and it's really irritating.
9.) The art that turned out so well it doesn't even look like my art.
10.) The one that Tyler Ward noticed...WHICH WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT A LOT BETTER IF I'D HAD MORE TIME.
No, but seriously Tyler Ward saw it and it made my daaaaaaay.
11.) Here, have a really terrible pianist sketch... that I actually like and I don't know why.
12.) And finally, have the girl who emotes sadness, because I drew her this afternoon.
Alrighty, everyone, thanks for sticking around when I ditched you!
Question time!
Favorite overall?
Favorite black and white?
Have you seen s2 of Agent Carter?
Do you ever think your art is good, until you look at it again and decide, "Eeeh, no?"
Did you miss me?
Love ya!
I like the way your people look, they have actual depth to them! Mine are *very* 2-D which works for cartoons I guess, but not anything serious. And I loooooved the one with the guy playing guitar, how do you even do that? :D
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to congratulate you and your's for the new baby, but I read that post and I was all 'awwww!'
Awwwww yay! THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT because I've been working on depth and you NOTICED and it makes me so HAPPY.
DeleteEhehe... The guitar one I used a picture of Tyler Ward for reference for the pose. :)
Ehe, babies. XD
Yes, I totally missed you! Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I watched S2 of Agent Carter together. Sometimes you just have to watch certain shows with a sibling or friend so that you don't look like a crazy person squealing and lecturing and pointing at the screen all by yourself, right? It's much more acceptable in pairs. ;) And yeah, the costuming was gorgeous, and Peggy was awesome (as usual...), and it gave us all the feels, and JARVIS. :) Your fanart is great! Show us the finished product once you color THE ONE. Okay?!
*Is absurdly delighted by this knowledge.
DeleteRIGHT? RIIIIGHT? RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!?? (Squealing is much more allowed when it's not just you flailing at the TV all by yourself.)
Peggy is so fabulously ladylike while she takes out a bunch of guys, like, how do you ninja kill someone and still be ladylike???? JARVIS AND HIS CUTE LITTLE WIFE WERE LIKE AAAL:FKGJ. And okay I WILLL!
OF COURSE I MISSED YOUUUUUUU. Ah it's so lovely to see your art again (^.^).
ReplyDeleteFavorite overall, NUMBER 12. OOOOOOHHHH. AND THE HIGHLIGHTS. MMMMMM SO NICE. SUCH EMOTING.
Favorite black and white NUMBER 5 BECAUSE REASONS. Mmmm dang. Nice foreshortening too on his arm. It's reeeeeallly hard for me to draw people dancing. I'm inspired to go try now ...
I only saw one ep of Agent Carter, and I also saw pics of her in The Blue Suit because apparently it's epic. I think it'd be kinda fun to watch ... kinda ... but right now I'm just getting into Avatar the Last Airbender and I looooooove it so I'm good for a while, thanks (^.^). WAIT. YOU HAVE AIRBENDER FAN ART, DON'T YOU? I REMEMBER SEEING THAT. EEEEEEE. I must hunt up your Airbender posts!!! *fangirls* Ah, fanart. Literally the first thing I did after watching the first ep was too google Sokka / Toph. And also Aang / Katara (I know I'm spelling her name wrong but oh well.) Yeah. Fanart is half the fun of loving a show O.O.
I find it helpful to step away from my art for about an hour and then come back to it. Then it'll stop looking good as you say and you can see what's wrong or disproportionate about it.
Welcome baaaaack!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. *dances*
DeleteYeah, cause #12 turned out so goood. I LOVE TO MAKE THE HIGHLIGHTS. Such emote! Wow passion. lol.
SUCH REASONS. THEY ARE AWESOME. Arms are very hard, especially man arms and I DON'T KNOW WHY. So thanks for the foreshortening comment. lol.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AVATAR IS SO CORNY I LOVE IT.
I DO HAVE AIRBENDER ART. I have a search bar on the side of the blog if you wanna find it. lol. (Actually you spelled Katara's name just right.)
I knoooow, and I should, I just don't cause I get carried away lol.
Oh joy, more pictures! I missed these.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what did you use to colour the sad girl?
Favorite overall?- I like #9. New styles are fun to fiddle with!
Favorite black and white? -Aside from #9, maybe #2. I really like that hair.
Have you seen s2 of Agent Carter?- I haven't even seen season 1.
Do you ever think your art is good, until you look at it again and decide, "Eeeh, no?"- I have no idea what you're talking about. (well, maybe)
Did you miss me?- I did. Welcome back!
Aw really?? *heart eyes*
DeleteI use copic markers and the highlights are gelpen.
And #9 was like "WOW I DID DIS."
She has good hair to reference, does Peggy Carter.
You should it's fun.
*knuckle bump for avoiding the question*
YAY!
THESE ARE AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteTHAT LAST ONE IS AMAZING.
I LIKE #5 A LOT TOO. YOU MIGHT EVEN SAY, I THINK IT'S AMAZING.
THANK YOU.
DeleteTHE LAST ONE MADE MY DAAAAAAAAAY.
WOW, CRAZY, I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA SAY THAT. LOL.
Yay for Picture Saturday! Seriously, I love these posts.
ReplyDeleteAw! A picture for your brother's wedding was such a sweet idea!
I like your drawing of Agent Carter better than the promo pics and screencaps...your drawing looks gentler and more easygoing, I guess, than the persona in the show. To me, Peggy often looks like she has a chip on her shoulder. (Oh, and I haven't seen *any* seasons of the show; got limited amounts of TV-watching time over here.)
Ooh, love the hair in #4!
#5 IS AWESOME!!! That one's probably my favorite.
#7...gorgeous, long hair... I think this is my favorite black-and-white sketch.
My sketchbook and scanner has the exact same splotch problem (unless the sketchbook is a little 5x7 thing). *sympathy*
Ugh, YES all the time! Sometimes a drawing looks good one minute, and then within the next hour, it stinks.
Aw, yes, I missed you! Good to have you back! Oh, and I every time I walk by the copic markers section of Hobby Lobby, I think of you. :-) (And always tempted to pick up a few markers, but I need to get more proficient with my current mediums before trying another.)
Shucks.... *kicks imaginary pebble*
DeleteIt was a book, actually, and it turned out so goooood.
The promo pics and stuff don't actually do the show justice, because Peggy is sweet. She's tough and she's a spy, but she's really classy and really warm and I love her. lol.
Cool!
Cause... dancing.
I love drawing flowing long hair, it's fun.
Oh good, that makes me feel better, cause I hate it when there are splotches.
AND THAT IS THE MOST DEPRESSING THING EVER.
Yaaaaaaaay. lol. Haha, really? That's awesome. (I dunno, I started copics before I got good with colored pencils and I think that medium just clicked with me.)
THE GUITAR!! Okay, and the dude with the guitar also. That one's my favorite of favorites. It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI also like #8. I know you said you don't like her head. But it seems good to me? I know her hair is kind of everywhere because the wind. I blame the wind.
And I really like the last one too. It does show a lot of emotion. I hope your day goes better though!
Yaaaaaaaaasssss. It turned out so nice! lol. THANK YOU!
DeleteWell it should have been like.... just a scoot to the north rather than like totally buried in her chest. Disproportionate x10. lol. (I love drawing wind though)
It did, I had a good rest of my day. ;)
I SAW 9 AND THOUGHT OH WOW THAT LOOKS LIKE TYLER WARD AND I SCROLLED DOWN AND LO AND BEHOLD IT WAS
ReplyDeleteFavorite overall is #2. Because good shoulders are always winners.
#8. Her head doesn't look messed up to me. *shrug*
NOPE. Too busy for more things to watch, man.
Every time. Every. Single. Time.
Duh. ;)
BECAUSE BASICALLY TYLER WARD IS REALLY COOL. LOL.
DeleteHaha I like that you agree with me about shoulders lol.
Shhhhh. Shhhhhhhh.... It just *is*.
Same...
THANKS!
Ooh! I like #9! And the pianist one! I just updated my own drawing blog (finally). I think I'm getting better maybe(?) :)
ReplyDeleteNumber 9 TURNED OUT SO GOOOOD lol. oOOoh, really? I'mma look when I go to comment on blogs!
DeleteI think we are sometimes too hard on ourselves and don't even realize it. I think your art is always wonderful, even the ones you said were drawn wrong.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like #8 the best, I don't think her head is misplaced at all, it looks right to me....& #12 - the hair is great...
have a lovely day.
You are the sweetest! I love you. ;)
DeleteWow, really? Hmmm. Maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. :) Thank you.
You too!
