Aw, she lives! Hey dude!

Yes I realize it's been over a month since I last posted.

Yes, I'm very sorry.

But I was sick, and then I worked a lot, and then it was Christmas and now I'm sick again. I haven't drawn in like two weeks. HORRORS!

Also... like three days after my last post, I lost 5 followers overnight. WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID? LIKE GEEZ.

Anyway, those of you who have been around for a while know that I have a tradition where I do a tag to sum up the year, and yeah...I have to do it. It's Tradition.

So we should get started because A.) I'm ill and I don't know how long I will be able to stay awake, and B.) The tag is really long. :)

1.) What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before?
I literally thought about this for like... two whole minutes, and.... apparently I don't like trying new things, because I couldn't think of anything.

2.) Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make one this year?
Last year I didn't really make one, so no. But yeah, I have a few this year, they're scary and awesome.

3.) Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yeah! My sister Laura had a little boy and his name is Peter! (And my other sister is due in March, and if all goes well I'M GOING TO BE THERE!!!!!!)

4.) Did anyone close to you die?
Well yes and no. One of our older cousins did, but we weren't actually close, so...

5.) What countries/states did you visit?
Oh I travel down to Nevada all the time. (*Cough* the state line is like... ten minutes from where I live though so....) Also it's NevADa, not NevODa.

6.) What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
I have literally wanted to get married and have babies since I was like 13, and I still don't know anyone and this is a sadness to me.

7.) What date from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory?
That glorious day in March when my brother surprised Amy and me with a landy.

8.) Did you move anywhere?
Eh. No. Feel free to tell me I'm boring.

9.) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
      I can werk copic markers.

10.) What was your biggest failure?
       I still can't park straight.

11.) Did you suffer illness or injury?
Eh. Uh. I mean, yeah, I'm sick right now. OH OH I SLICED THE TOP OF MY THUMB REALLY DEEP WHEN I WAS CLEANING ROSES.

12.) What was the best thing you bought?
I don't buy stuff. (Well actually I do, but I don't buy exciting stuff.) ART SUPPLIES??

13.) Whose behavior merited celebration?
Ehm. Prolly Chloe, because that little girl is just the sweetest.

14.) Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
There was one person who made my best friend cry and I almost tracked her down and brained her.

15.) Where did most of your money go?
Rent and food and movie tickets.

16.) What did you get really, really, really excited about?

17.) What was the best concert you’ve been to this year?
Does Mary Poppins count as a concert? Because that was stellar.

18.) What song/album will always remind you of 2015?
Prolly Stages, Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Finding Neverland, and Il Volo's Grande Amore International Version. Because basically, JOSH, and of course, I finally was able to listen to those two musicals, and I love them, and of course, Il Volo's voices blend like coffee and it's just SO GOOD.

Though in retrospect, I should probably add Phantom to the list because everyone knows this is the year I was obsessed.

19.) Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier, which is good, because last year I was sad.

20.) What do you wish you’d done more of?
        I dunno. Trusting God?

21.) What do you wish you’d done less of?
Stressing out. If I were that coral that dies of stress, I would be dead.

22.) What was your greatest musical discovery?
        Gentleman's Guide, because hysterical.

23.) How did you spend Christmas?
I can honestly say, we haven't had such a perfect, flawless, beautiful Christmas in a while. It was amazing! Everyone who was close enough came for Christmas morning, we had five people to one bed (Which was awesome because it's a big bed, we're small people, and it was FREEZING after Midnight Mass.) And Christmas morning was a beautiful state of organized chaos with hot Italian sausage on sweet buns and we did all our Traditional Christmas things like lighting the Christ Candle and singing Joy to the World and opening the stockings and just... delighted screams and happiness everywhere and just... so many blessings. lol. We had extra people over for dinner (gnocchi and ham, because ITALIAN) and a giant snowball fight with everyone who was under 40. But the snow didn't pack well so when the boys teamed up against the girls, everyone disappeared behind a delicious white cloud of snow.

24.) How are you spending New Year’s?
Well tonight I'm going to attempt to stay up til Midnight and toast in the new year, and tomorrow there's a shindig at Homebase and we're going to have bon y caulda, because yes.

25.) Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?

26.) What was the best book you read?
        Lockwood and Co, hands down.

27.) Did you fall in love in 2015?
        *Squints at you*

28.) What was your favorite TV show?
Er. Don't make me answer that.

29.) Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
        Eh. No I'm geoood.

30.) What did you want and get?
        So many copic markers.

31.) What did you want and not get?
        I don't really want stuff.

32.) What were your favorite films of this year?

1.) Age of Ultron

2.) Scorch Trials
3.) Ant Man
4.) Kingsmen. (Which apart of the casual way they drop the f bomb every minute, and the one totally random bed scene at the end, was quite good.)

33.) What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On my birthday... my bestest cousin came up, and we went shopping and did fun things together and met up with mah pal Sammi, and then we ate food, and I got pressies. *blink blink* I turned 20. SOON I SHALL BE 21.

34.) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?
I was literally a cross of "How much can I dress like Penelope?" and "What do I have in my closet that is the most comfortable?"

35.) What kept you sane?
My family, my faith, and my fandoms.

36.) Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

But then again, Gianluca is pretty special, and his voice makes me melt. And I kind of hate him for it.

37.) What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Eh, I'm pretty content. But I would like a different flat/apartment soon.

38.) What political issue stirred you the most?
The Supreme Court made a really dumb decision in June and it really ticked me off.

39.) Who did you miss?
        Mostly my sisters.

40.) Who was the best new person you met?
We very recently have a new friend of the family and we can't decide if he's a giraffe or a hedgehog.

41.) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014.

42.) Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

43.) Five personally significant events of 2014:
1.) Learned to draw in color
        2.) I...
        3.) Don't....
        4.) Do....
        5.) Stuff....

44.) Five things I want to do in 2015:
1.) Take at least one art class
2.) Take my drawing more seriously so I can make it a career.
3.) Maybe get an extra job cause I' broke.
        4.) Taking more singing classes.
5.) Scheme up a way to keep my best friend from moving to LA.

45.) Five people I’d like to know better in 2014:

Right. That's all for now, my dear old crazy followers.

I want all of you to answer THREE of the questions for me!

And how are you celebrating New Years?

Thank you so much for sticking with me, all of you, and I hope you have a blessed, Happy New Year!
I love you all!

God bless!

  1. I dunno why, but I just thought "Derp" when reading this post. So, "Derp" to you.

  2. I want all of you to answer THREE of the questions for me!
-Any of the list, you mean?
    20) what you said.
    21) what you said.
    22) I only watched the musical Tarzan and My son Pinocchio. I prefer Tarzan.

And how are you celebrating New Years?
-At the moment? Reading your blog. I'm not the kind for big shin-digs, so I usually just read or watch something.

Good to hear from you again
Merry belated Christmas, Happy New Year

    1. Yes, that is what I mean. :)

They made Tarzan into a musical? THAT"S HILARIOUS is it good??

Aw shucks. lol. Us too, but since it's literally just our immediate family, it's not *really* a big shindig. XD

yay! I'm glad you didn't desert me too. :)

      Baack at you!!!!

  3. She's alive! I knew it! I knew you would come back before the year was over to give us a grand finale. And you did! Yay! (I'm sorry about those followers by the way.) Great post! I can relate to most of those answers. Especially the dull ones ;D

New Year's Eve was pretty lazy. We were mostly on the couch watching movies or playing videogames. My dad went to his bed while we watched a movie so that's why we were able to stay up later then the last few years. No one came over although my older sister visited with her friend for a little while. We watched the last minute of the countdown and drank sparkling apple cider. Then we knocked out on our beds. We are going to 12pm mass today which I am looking forward to. I hardly know anyone(besides you) that go to midnight mass.

One thing I did last year that I hadn't done before is watch a 13 hour marathon of The Hobbit and LOTR movies.
Last year, I didn't make a resolution but my resolution this year is to pray more rosaries and tally them up at the end of the year so I can see how many I prayed.
My books kept me sane as did my friends. I didn't see anyone for a week and I was getting a little ancy to see anyone besides my family. I read that whole week and hardly talked to anyone which is very odd...

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your winter break and Happy New Year's Day! :D

    1. Awwwwww I love it when people have such faith in me XD (I'm sorry about them too. lol Rude.) LOL cool! I'm relatably boring.

mmm Same. 'Cept I was siiiiiiick. Haha, I love it when dads go to bed early, it's like PARTY! (But quietly). Aw I wish we lived close enough to a church to be able to go more often than every other Sunday. MIDNIGHT MASS IS BEAUTIFUL.

Wow that's... that's a lot of hours. HA Well, I can't really make fun of that, because sometimes our friends come up specifically to binge watch stuff. lol. But we usually split up the LOTR marathons over three days.

      That's an awesome resolution. XD

Books are awesome, friends are amazing. (Lol, I know the antsy family feeling)

Same to you! HAPPY NEW YEARS!

      God bless

    2. Yep that was us! Party while dad's in bed! The difference is that we started out quiet but then got REALLY loud. He woke up and stormed in the living room with messy hair so we just laughed.

Sometimes not living close to a church gives us the most reverence when we do go. I didn't use to like going to church but when we moved out of state, I missed our "second home". When we moved back to where we started, I didn't want to leave church. I was there everyday. I don't mean to brag that I have a church three blocks away from me, but not having a church nearby helped me advance in my faith journey and maybe that's what is helping you. I don't know you well enough to say where you are in your journey but I will pray that you overcome it :)

Yep that's me! I like to pull the all-nighters. And I also like to see everyone try to stay up but end up knocking out XD

My books are my life... And so are my friends. I've made some unbreakable bonds over this last year that helped me get out of my shell :D (I hate that feeling!)

      God bless you too!

  4. Good to hear from you again! I'm sorry you're sick, and I hope you get better soon.
This was a fun tag to read, and the gifs you added in were hilarious! Have you thought what specific kind of art career you'd like?--such as illustration or taking commissions or just selling prints and paintings?
Speaking of art, one new thing I did this year was start learning to use colored pencils (emphasis on "learning". :-) ) It's handy to have a dry medium to use, especially if I'm just experimenting with color schemes or combinations. Previously, I had to drag out my watercolors if I wanted to color a drawing.
Greatest musical discovery--JEKYLL & HYDE! I listened to it on Bella's recommendation during her musical blog party, and I surprised myself with how much I love that story. (Skipping over some of the songs, of course.)
And what I wish I'd done less of--have to copy your answer and say stress less. It's hard to know where the line is between stressing and just making sure something gets done adequately on time. But yeah, there IS a difference between them. :-)

~She of the Very Long Comments

    1. Haha! yay! Me too, omyghosh, it would be so nice to not be perpetually stuffed up.

Really? I thought it was boring this year. XD (I am the queen of gifs. I can find them for everything.) I'd like to either be an illustrator or take commissions. I'm not much of a painter, so I'm not sure how well that would work out.

I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE START TRYING NEW THINGS!!!!! You did a really good job on my Gentleman's Guide picture though. *FACEPALM* I FORGOT TO POST IT, OMYGOODNESS..

JEKYLL & HYDE, properly edited, is one of the BEST musicals I've ever heard.
.... Stress takes so much joy out of life, but I think it's just ingrained into my personality. RIGHT?? IT'S JUST SO HARD TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE!

She Who Likes Very Long Comments.

    2. Well, boring is better than earth-shattering stuff like a power outage, a snowstorm, and a house fire all in the same week. :-)

I like my colored pencils, although it's hard to cover large areas with even tones. Still working out techniques, although I drew some landscapes from The Magician's Nephew recently, and they turned out well. That's okay about the Gentleman's Guide picture. :-)

Good to know you like long comments; sometimes I'm not sure if I'm being friendly or annoying.

Oh, and that was a perfect quote to use for the title! Finding Nemo is such a good movie!

    3. Did that happen to you??

Yeah, even tones I believe will forever be the bane of my existence. :)

Nah, you're not annoying at all. Don't worry about it. :)

      Hahaha thanks!

    4. Oh no, the string of disaster didn't happen to me. It was a random example. :-)

    5. Hahaha oh good, I was like, "WHAT ARE YOU OKAY, OHMYGOSH."

  5. HA. You are one of the least dull people, Treskie. Sewiously. It doesn't matter what you post about or when but I always am thoroughly amused. Sorry you're sick, though. THAT IS JUST THE WORST.

We are celebrating New Years by watching the Winter Classic. GO BRUINS. But seriously, why can't they up their game? Hoping they give the Habs some better competition. :-P

What would I like to have in 2016 that I lacked in 2015?
Hm. More of an attitude of surrender. More trust. More confidence.

Who did I spend the most time on the phone with?
Addy Thompson. Because she's brave enough to call this awkward introvert/terrible phone conversationalist more than once. :-D

Song Lyric that Sums up 2015:

I want to quote a lyric from one of Addy's songs, but that wouldn't be very fair since she hasn't actually published her songs yet. She should.

So I think the lyric that sums up this year is this:

"Soul then know thy full salvation,
Rise o'er sin and fear and care,
Joy to find in every station,
Something still to do or bear.
Think what Spirit dwells within thee,
Think what Father's smiles are thine,
Think that Jesus died to win thee,
Child of heaven canst thou repine."
From "Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken". Indelible Grace version.

Five things I'd like to do in 2016:

    1. Finish a couple of my books. This is not as great a goal as it looks from the outside because they're both around halfway complete... but yeah.
    2. Play more music. Because I have three instruments I love that sit far too often.
    3. Draw more. I'd like to do some comics.
    4. Learn Chinese.
    5. Fall more and more in love with my Savior. <--And mostly that. :-)

    P.S. I love ya.

    1. DARLING!!!!!!!!!!!! Phsssh. I'm so dull. I may be hilarious about it, but I'm dull. XD IT REALLY IS THE WORST. GAWSH.

I have no idea what you're talking about. *Is awkward*

2015, or 2016, BUT YEAH THAT'S A GOOD ANSWER, ME TOO.

Hahah, the awkward phone introvertism. XD

      That's a really beautiful song. o_O

1.) Yes you should because YOU WRITE GUD.
      3.) Aw you should. XD
4.) ....That sounds so hard to learn.
      5.) YOU AWESOME.

      KAY KAY KAY.

      PS. Love you moooore.

  6. Your gifing skills are perfect. And I KNOW YOU LOVE THAT GUY. THAT DEAN WINCHESTERY GUY. MWHAHAHAH. *collapses* He is a good guy. *nods*
Oh oh good luck with making your drawing a career possibly next year! YOU GOT THIS. Your drawings are the best of ever. No joke.
And also I don't do this post makes me feel better. XD

    1. Hahaha, awww. Thanks. I KNOW I AM THE BEST GIFer! THAT DEAN WINCHESTER GUY IS FABULOUS LOL. (But so is Gianluca and it's a problem.)

Ha! I got this! I don't got this... *crawls under blankets and cries* heeeee, my drawings need work.

We can not to stuff together! (Separately) XD

  7. welcome back! merry Christmas and happy new year! I hope you fully recover from being sick:)

    1. Thanks! Same to you. ;) Me too, *grouchily drinks more water*

  8. What do you wish you'd done more of? Reading the Bible? Witnessing to people?
What do you wish you'd done less of? Probably waste time on Pinterest.
What was the best book you read? AAGH THAT GIF because I got The Hollow Boy for Christmas and I am still not over it.

    1. Well that's fair. ;)
But pinterest is the bee's knees. (But I feel ya, I really do)

  9. 3 questions sure.

#2 - I never make resolutions because I couldn't keep them but I can think of certain things I have to do for the new year, like buying new clothes because I've been wearing the same ones for years...

#18 - no music reminds me of 2015 but I did listen to a lot of David Choi - his music is kind of sad and fluffy and light and just all over easy to listen kind of music

#26 - the book thief was and is such a great book, it's just ashamed the author's other work aren't as good.

there you go. I'm just as dull, but no complains here, well, not today anyway.

have a wonderful, active, super joyful new year.

    1. Aw cool. ;)

I know that feeling. But this year I thought I'd give it a try. OH I KNOW THAT FEELING OF WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES FOR YEARS.

I should look David Choi up. Is he a singer or a musician?

I'll admit that someone spoiled the ending for me and I lost interest in reading the Book Thief. XD

I love it when people say they're dull too, like. Awwww yiss.

      YOU TOO! Thanks!!!

  10. He's a giraffe.

Don't worry, you won't hate your future husband after I trip him for you. (Then I will ask Jensen Ackles to sing a song at your wedding and I'll be in the corner laughing as you melt into the floor.)

I had to listen to Stages again thanks to you. Now I have a bunch of mixed feels from 2015. I HAS 2015 FEELS! Weird.

    1. But he's got spikey hair and curls into a ball when tickled. .....

........I hate you. I WOULD MELT, OMG> *dies*

You're welcome. Cause basically.... Josh. YOU HAVE 2015 FEELZ!? WHAAAAAAAAT?

  11. Hey there! I know this is a little late, but I was wondering if maybe you wouldn't mind if I used these questions for a new year's post on my blog? I'd give credit to you, of course, but I totally understand if you'd rather me not.
It's so neat to be able to see an overview of your past year like this!

    1. No that's totally fine. Go for it! I'd like to read it! :)

I know, I really like how neatly it sums up the year ... and it makes you remember little details that are important, you know?

    2. Thanks so much! It'll be on once I get around to it. xD
      Mhm, it's really great. ^^

    3. You're welcome!! I'll go look as soon as I have a chance!!
